Steven Spielberg made one of the greateat films of all time - "Jaws". An absolute masterpiece of filmmaking. A true lightning in a bottle. Rarely do we see a film reach such heights in terms of the quality of the editing, acting, cinematography, score, and suspension-building.
Now, the plot of the film revolves around three men who set out to hunt down a man-eating shark that's claimed the waters near the shores of a small touristy island as his own. What Spielberg does is to paint a mesmerising study of the men's relationship aboard the ship, "Orca". They are three different people from different walks of life who however have to join their forces against a mutual enemy.
I am hardly capable of giving justice to that film, or even its thrilling climax alone.
However, it was not until the year 1981 that Spielberg really came into his own - commercially and artistically. With, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" he actually pulled off something that would have seemed impossible at the time - he surpassed his own masterpiece.
"Raiders" is the pinnacle of adventure and action cinema alike. Set in the 1930's, the film follows an American archaeologist across multiple continents as he tries to beat the Nazis in a race to obtain the powerful Ark of the Covenant.
In my view, "Raiders", constitutes an example of a perfect film. A brilliant cast with a superb score, cinematography, editing, writing and so forth, makes Raiders stand out amongst Spielberg's works. Intended as a homage to the old movie serials of the 1930's, the film not only captures the essence of the genre, but expands upon it, making for a brilliant piece of cinema.
In my view, "Raiders" constitutes Spielberg's greatest work, and I am baffled that it's not seen as such. Why? Why would that be the case?

Hello, I have been seeing these (possibly) paid or whatever reviews flooding this sub. I am a genuine first-time buyer of the TicWatch and I am ready to be burned by Mobvoi, but we will see. This is my first Wear OS watch, as i couldn't stand the 1-1.5 days of battery life. Before I had smartwatches by Pebble, Samsung(Tizen), Fitbit, Xiaomi, Amazfit, Huawei(GT), so i have some experience. I'll give my thoughts about he hardware of this watch, since I am not extremely familiar with wear os yet, im sure you all are way more knowledgeable.
Overall feel/build quality:

• I would say it feels pretty well built, but nothing exceptionally amazing. It feels better than most of the smartwatches I owned, but it's just good. 7/10.
• The rotating crown actually feels really good, solid scroll and feel, I surprisingly liked that it is located in the center, when it was diagonal on amazfit and huawei watches, i was accidentally scrolling it with a bone sticking out on my wrist. On ticwatch i can do push-ups without pressing the button, but your mileage may vary, if you wear it very close to your wrist, for example. Click on the crown is very nice and soft.
• The top button, I think, is a bit hard to press, but not terrible, not a deal breaker at all.
• Having a metal bezel in front of the screen is great, every watch should have that, glad they did it.
• The weight of the watch i would say is very nice, it's not a light watch, but in a good spot without being too heavy, like Huawei GT 3 pro was for me, even though i thought they should be around the same weight. Feels good on the hand, could easily sleep with them on my wrist, good.

The looks:

• I would say in person they do look a bit better, than in pictures/videos. On the other hand, it's hard to imagine what they could have changed to make this watch look even more bland. Wife thinks they look cheap, I, on the other hand, kinda like the look. Another 7/10.
• Possibly a nice or original watchband could save the look, but the strap size is 24mm, i have to order them from somewhere since all my spare bands are 20mm and 22mm, huge dislike in this regard.

Low-power display: So keep in mind, this is the first time I have a TicWatch, the only things I know about it, I saw in the reviews.

• Having a Pebble smartwatch I figured the screen would be something similar to that, but the secondary screen on the TicWatch is significantly darker and it's not so comfortable to just glance at a watch to see the time, I often have to catch a good reflection to see it clearly, to the point that i thought something is wrong with the display, but i guess it's just how it is. Half of the time it can be seen pretty comfortably.
• I don't like my watch turning on when I randomly turn my hands, so the backlight is off. But, backlight can be turned on by rotating a crown, this addition is great, so I don't turn on the OLED display, but still can see time in the dark.
• The info on the low-power display is great, time, date, day of the week, new notification icon, that's pretty much all i need and it's all there.
• Can change the color of the backlight, but i honestly don't care about it, but good customization option anyway.

Performance:

• The performance of the watch is great, everything loads fast, scrolling is smooth, coming from the fitness smartwatches with non-full OSs, it feels weird to have a bit of a delay when opening/closing all apps list and some other places, but even with this i would say it feels really good and solid, i am assuming other wear os watches are worse, couldn't stand how laggy the Samsung watch was, for example. Yeah, overall very good, I enjoy using it a lot, scrolling feels smoother than smartwatches with light OS.

Battery life:

• So I guess is wouldn't be correct to rate the battery life, before a couple of weeks went by and the watch has settled in, to get actual battery life. But I'll quickly say, I might have some apps that are causing battery drain, but my watch with backlight off, seems to hold maybe two days at best. But I was installing apps and trying things out, so that might be the issue, still, I am not currently getting 3-4 days of heavy use, how some of the reviews were saying. Very big disclaimer that I might be missing something and it's my fault it's draining so fast. Also, i cannot find how to check what is actually using the battery the most. Wear Os app doesn't want to connect to my watch for some reason.
  
• The charging speed is actually very nice, charges really quickly, huge plus, this helps with the battery life i am having currently. Charging while showering will make the battery life non-issue, but still i would like to have a peace of mind of better battery life.
  

I can’t stand Yoly and Lexi’s attitude towards Vanessa and their own lack of self awareness . Yes , Vanessa isn’t this saint of a person and you could definitely argue that she wasn’t there for the right reasons but honestly are there any good reasons to be on this show ? This is a reality TV show , not the best place to find true and real love and for Lexi to think she’s a better person because they’re there for the “right reasons” is a bit rich for my taste and I think they’re taking themselves way too seriously . Vanessa makes it very clear her intentions from the very beginning , love it or hate it , and Rae absolutely knew what they were getting in to by choosing to go with Vanessa . It was unfair for Vanessa to be constantly attacked the way she was by both Lexi and Yoly when you could argue that Lexi “emotionally cheating” on Rae and what Yoly did with Xander was way worse but for some reason it’s different because they’re immersing themselves in the experience . I thought it was unfair for people to point fingers at Vanessa for stuff they did the same, but it’s excused because they are “in it for the right reasons”. This show was made to help people learn and grow as each person has their own things to work on, but it seemed like only Vanessa was in trouble for learning and growing. I didn’t like the whole ganging up on her either because it left no room for Vanessa to explain herself because she was dismissed and ignored while some people got away with stuff just because it wasn’t Vanessa. Yoly and Lexi would comment on anything Vanessa said or did, but would turn around and do similar stuff yet they both did not need to defend themselves just because they picked who the bad person was going to be (Vanessa) since the start. Only on episode 6 so I’ll see if my mind changes but I’m more upset with the lack of everyone’s self awareness and I truly believe that anyone who would go on this show probably aren’t the best people anyways .

Not sure how accurate this will be but I’m stewing on it and want it out my brain because it isn’t going away and I want other opinions. Will say I have not seen NPMD and know nothing about the plot except what has been announced. Also sorry if this is something that is already known or accepted but I dropped out of the Fandom for a while and I am now watching everything again and it is making me think.
I’ve been thinking about the livestream and specifically the CCRP theory that they were experimenting on the Tech Department which they confirmed. It made me think why they were trying to connect to the Lords in Black in Hatchetfield and why all the events seemed to happen inside Hatchetfield which is described as a tiny town when they could have gone to a larger town such and had more people to mess with. Especially since there have been sacrifices (such as in Honey Queen) and the cult in Black Friday which at least to me they heavily implied was based in Hatchetfield with the prophet being chosen from Hatchetfield and them wanting to make the mall it’s base. As well as McNamara saying if Wiggly was defeated in Hatchetfield he could be defeated anywhere.
I think there could be a portal connecting the Black and White to whatever dimension or timeline we are in. So they enter primarily through Hatchetfield so that is where the pull off all these events is stronger. Such as the Meteor. Which if Poketho wanted too spread faster a larger city surrounded by other cities would be smarter not an island unless that island was already filled with magic. Which also explains the Forest in my opinion better because it was how the people who planted it were able to fill it with magic easier.
Therefore the people in CCRP running these experiments would choose Hatchetfield to try and tap into the power of the Black and White because that is the place on Earth it is strongest due to the portal.
So they hired people that had not the greatest relationships to their families or their families didn’t have the most connections. With Charlotte and her failing marriage and both of them having affairs, Bill who may not have been divorced when he was hired but the relationship was likely not great them and a shaky relationship with his daughter, Ted who from what I got in Abstinence Camp is close to Pete but what can he do he’s a teenager but is not liked by pretty much anyone else and Paul who never mentions his family really and he was not close to Emma when he was hired. So people who wouldn’t notice really if things got strange with the four of them so they could continue their experiments some of which have been successful such as the Paul clones and Ted’s office.
These next points are a bit more shaky but I want to share them.
I think there is a chance other people are connected to the Black and White other than Lex and Hannah. While I do think they got so powerful to talk directly to Webby ad Lex did as a kid and Hannah is described as being incredibly powerful due to being raised close to the portal there are others that seem to have the focus of the Lords in Black.
My best example being Paul. The Hive had an interest in him in particular and seem to have chosen him as the lead in their musical when Emma was also defying them and when they took over Hidgens they knew she was working on a way to take them all down and afterwards they still focused on Paul.
The there’s Linda. She was Wiggly’s prophet because she had desires they could manipulate but potentially she had some level of psychic ability before hand because she didn’t gain any other abilities other than hearing Wiggly which she could have had lying dormant before.
Maybe even the four that CCRP chose all have a tie to the Black and White that we just don’t know about yet. There is little to no evidence for it other than the stuff I have said before.

I'm curious as to how the story mode is gonna be for the fourth game, because part of me believes that instead of retelling the arcs from Z for the 800th time they'll focus on the arcs from Super instead. Since Dragon Ball has had the word Super attached to it for the past couple of years, Super has been the main attraction for things Dragon Ball nowadays. The things that have been added into Fortnite was stuff from Super, and the teaser we got showcased Goku in his Super Saiyan Blue transformation. If the story is focused on the arcs from Super that means we get, Beerus arc, return of Frieza, Tournament of Destroyers, Goku Black/Zamasu arc, and the Tournament of Power. I believe that the story mode is gonna be focused for unlocking base roster characters, and think the Broly movie along with the Super Hero movie could be extra content added later.

What I mean is that it feels like there's a lack of star power for this mcc to get the donations in. Sure you have large streamers like Ranboo and Sykunno in but it feels as if there is not many BIG ones like Jacksepticeye or Lazarbeam, heck not even Tommyinnit is in. Hello, looking for some thoughts or advice regarding changing the access permission for individual list items.
We use a List to post announcements on a SharePoint page, and I'm looking to use permissions so that certain announcements can only be seen by certain people (based on job role). This way all levels of announcements (fully public, more private, etc.) can be viewed in one location by any particular user, and they'll only see announcements pertaining to their job level. Also if it's relevant, my team is the only one creating the items, so no one else needs editing access.
Anyways, the plan is to create access groups for each job role, and then giving access to whichever group(s) the announcement pertains to.
A few questions... First, does this seem viable? Looking at past posts, I see that breaking permission inheritance is frowned upon (which I guess I'm gonna have to dive into for larger SharePoint management stuff...) But is this still the case for things like Announcements, which are more temporary in their nature?
Next, assuming this is viable, is there a way to manage the permissions of an item while I'm creating it? It would be nice to set the access audience while creating the post, versus creating the post/item and then messing with the access afterwards. I have a little experience with Power Automate, so I could probably create something there if that offers a solution.

So I played for a little bit last night before I went into the first cellar and my laptop literally just...stopped. It completely died, including no power lights at all. I managed to reboot it after about 5 minutes of browing this sub and the forums to see if anyone else has had such an issue. I removed all overlays and updated all drivers just to get past the Blizzard logo, and then it crashed after leaving the starter town. Wonderful.
I called it a night and woke up this morning to try and play again before work. Sadly, I forgot to kill Geforce Experience so the game crashed at the login screen. CTRL ALT DEL didn't work. I had to manually turn off the computer via holding the power button down, and now...nothing.
It's been half an hour now and my laptop is lifeless. I've tried everything and I cannot get the laptop to boot at all. There are no power lights on the case.
After having no issues with any other game beyond the occasional crash to desktop, this game has killed my laptop. Now before all the naysayers so it's my laptop: I've never had any other issues with any other games or programs, especially to this extent (and I play lots of WoW too!).
What is my recourse here? Clearly, a buggy and rushed out game has caused an issue with my laptop that I cannot resolve, and yet I will most likely be out of pocket to either get my laptop fixed or even purchase a new one? I do a lot of work from home which I now cannot do either...
FYI - my laptop is a Metabox (rebranded Clevo) with an RTX 2070, 16gb of RAM and an i7. The game ran pretty smoothly for the short time it worked...even the fans were relatively quiet. It just catastrophically died out of nowhere.
Anyway, end rant. Hopefully I come home from work and it magically starts again and I can simply refund the game and be done with it. If not, where do I go from there? Play Immortal on my phone for my Diablo fix (not a chance)?

At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in Nefarious would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU's roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam and so on.As
Nefarious neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above).
“I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in Nefarious, which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. There's nothing so wrong with “Nefarious” that it should be avoided, but nothing—besides the appealing presence of Dwayne Johnson—that makes it worth rushing out to see. spectacles that have more or less taken over studio filmmaking, but it accumulates the genre's—and the business's—bad habits into a single two- hour-plus package, and only hints at the format's occasional pleasures. “Nefarious” feels like a place-filler for a movie that's remaining to be made, but, in its bare and shrugged-off sufficiency, it does one positive thing that, if nothing else, at least accounts for its success: for all the churning action and elaborately jerry-rigged plot, there's little to distract from the movie's pedestal-like display of Johnson, its real-life superhero.
It's no less numbing to find material meant for children retconned for adults—and, in the process, for most of the naïve delight to be leached out, and for any serious concerns to be shoehorned in and then waved away with dazzle and noise. Nefarious” offers a moral realm that draws no lines, a personal one of simplistic stakes, a political one that suggests any interpretation, an audiovisual one that rehashes long-familiar tropes and repackages overused devices for a commercial experiment that might as well wear its import as its title. In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “Nefarious” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film.

It’s necessary to know the political context of Chile in 1976 to understand such a good film.

It happens after the government of Salvador Allende was violently taken out of their charge on September 11th, 1973, when according to the National Congress Library of Chile (2017) a Military Board installed themselves on charge of the political power of Chile, establishing an authoritarian government. Among other immediate measures, they established the closure of the National Congress, the recess of political parties and establishes the Site Status throughout the country, the Military Board governed the country until March 11, 1990. The dictatorship period was characterized by the practice of extensive and brutal political repression from the hands of the National Intelligence Directorate, from 1973 until 1978, this led to abuses and multiple violations of Human Rights. This is context of the film, and the reason why the women was screaming in the streets at the start of the film, also why a body showed up on the beach, why Elías was hurt and why Carmen has to hide when talking to one of his friends.
Thousands of citizens were arrested, it produced mass raids and torture, murders, and missing people that until today their families don’t know where they are, which were mostly targeted towards the militants and sympathizers of the deposed Popular Unity (a Chilean political party that leads towards socialism and communism), like Elías, the guy that Carmen takes care of.In this context, a considerable number of Chileans searched refuge in foreign embassies or leave the country, which is why the priest says that a lot of people escaped to other countries.
According to Cruz and Ramírez (2018) the role taken by the catholic church, like the priest, in the context of a highly politicized society as it was Chile during the Popular Union government (from 1970 until 19739) was not extent of tension, relevant catholic groups supported the “revolutionary process” that the country was going through, the more visible face of that were the “Christians for Socialism”. There was a very strong critique from the bishops towards the violent expressions from the opposition (the right-wing political parties), in a posture pro a pacific exit from the political crisis that was about to come. The ecclesial hierarchy accepted the rules of the new government, while also were starting to assist the victims of the political repression, meanwhile the government was looking for support from the bishops.
This is an example of the role that church played in real life during that brutal period of time in our history: Cardinal Silva Henríquez promoted the creation of the Ecumenical Committee for Cooperation for Peace in Chile (COPACHI), dedicated to give legal support to the politically persecuted, facilitating their departure from the country, providing abroad the first real information on the repression, and developing a series of support programs for those who remained in Chile. Hi all,
I’ve had the above for just over 3 years and the subwoofer has stopped working. Came to use it one day and couldn’t for the life of me get it working. Tried all the usual tricks, power recycle, reinstalling the app, factory reset, turning on sound bar with the minus sub button on the remote etc.
It did randomly work once, but then when I came to use it again, it was not working.
If I try to pair it, all I get is a flashing red standby light. It never pairs properly.
Any suggestions or do I have a dead sub? It’s out of warranty so I may end up taking it to bits and having a look.
