Hello, this is the first time I post something like this, and I know it’s probably just the narcissist in me wanting affirmation, but this is the internet, so I know people will just be honest on this issue. Also, disclaimer, this one is a bit long, but all pieces fit together.
I (M27) am from a small country in South America, but currently live in the states. All my family from my mom’s side (including my mom and half-siblings) still live there. Last December, I went back for the holidays, as I had not been able to do so since the pandemic started. It all was pretty chill until my last three days there.
My third to last day, my maternal uncle (M45) did me a favor and took me to visit my sibling’s grave (half-sibling from my dad’s side, who passed when I was a child), after that, we went to visit my grandpa (his father)’s grave. After we got back home, he wanted to go to the beach, and asked me to go with him. Obviously, after visiting both of my relatives’ graves, I was bummed out, and just wanted to stay home. My uncle tried to convince me by saying “I just took you to your sibling and your grandpa’s graves, do it for them”. I wanted so bad to tell him to shut up, that he was disrespectful, and to keep my sibling out of his mouth. I didn’t wanted to be disrespectful, so I just simply stayed quiet and just stayed home.
That was one. The next day, my mom invited my uncle, his 19y/o son (my cousin, let’s call him JD), my aunt and her husband. We were chillin, having some food and stuff. When everyone started saying their goodbyes, my uncle went with JD outside to the patio, and told him that they were going to pick up JD’s sister N (F17) and my sister R (F16) from a party. JD told my uncle to drop him off at his mom’s first (my uncle is divorced) because he was exhausted. My uncle told him no. When JD was about to explain him why, my uncle started yelling and tried to smack him in the head. JD pushed him apart and told him that he can’t hit him like that. My uncle then went berserk and started beating up JD. My mom, step-dad and I went outside to defend JD and to stop my uncle.
That was what happened on my trip and the main background. After I came back home, I just stopped talking to my uncle. A few weeks later, he messaged me to ask me about one of my college professors (he’s a college professor himself, and was organizing a symposium). I didn’t respond. More weeks passed, no messages or anything from either one of us, and yesterday he messaged me out of the blue again, asking if I can help him transferring some money that one of his friends here in the US needed to send him. Again I ignored him. And today, his friend started messaging and calling me regarding the money that needed to be transferred. I got irritated, because he didn’t even apologize, or even messaged me to see how I was, only to ask for favors. I sent him a voice message, as respectful as I could (because despite all he is still my uncle, and was one of my parental figures growing up) and told him “hey, first of I’m trying to be as respectful as I can because you’re my uncle and I’m so grateful for all you did for me growing up. The fact that you don’t seem to understand the level of disrespect towards me and my entire family when I was there, and you messaging me acting like nothing happened and straight up asking for favors. I need you to understand that I’m not gonna talk to you until you apologize, and without giving any BS excuse for something that is incurable “ He then responded “I’m not pretending like nothing happened, i have nothing to apologize for. If that’s what you want, I’m not gonna reach out to you anymore”
All this left me wandering if I did the right thing. Am I the Asshole for calling out on his bs, and effectively cut him out of my life until he apologizes?

The CEO is nuts, he calls at any time with any absurd idea he reads on the internet. And, just orders to implement it without any thought. Other depts are unable to understand that just because a strategy works for any other company, it won't necessarily work for us either.
The startup is in the medical industry, and many doctors work as consultants. CEO never rejects any of their ideas even if it is for any other department, whether marketing, production, or sales. And, believe me, most of their ideas are absurd and not at all helpful for this industry. I'm sick of how everyone knows marketing, has opinions and ideas, yet never wants to participate in the practical side of executing them.
I have started hating my job and slowly hating overall marketing. I've been struggling for 6 months and risking my mental health. Leaving this job is tough due to economical situations. Is there any way to handle it?

I think my everything failed when I kept giving up on killing myself. I kept trying and trying to make him even fucking care when all he wanted was sex. All he wanted from me was some fuck hole. As I’d lay there and let him do what he wants and I’d sit and cry when I’d get home wondering if I should have let anything continue if I should have let him do this to me as he continues to use me for shit. I hope he actually kills himself before me so I can go spit on his grave and cry at the same time, because he is all I have left and he ignores me and complains that I fuck up so much and how I can’t do anything right. And I can’t do anything if I leave him he’s gonna attack me and most likely ruin my life. Even if it’s already fucked. He’s like a fucking man child he can bitch at me and treat me like shit but when it comes to me even slightly being upset because of his actions I’m the fucking bad guy. I’m the piece of shit.he is why I want to kill my self he is why I don’t want to find anyone to help me because he will get mad it’s not him. The CEO is nuts, he calls at any time with any absurd idea he reads on the internet. And, just orders to implement it without any thought. Other depts are unable to understand that just because a strategy works for any other company, it won't necessarily work for us either.

Alright, all. I need some help. I usually don’t struggle with type of thing, but there this one guy who, for the past 13 years, I can’t help but return to. I developed deep feelings for him when we dated the first time (we were 19 then, 32 now).
I have at times gone years without talking to him, blocked him, etc. When that wasn’t happening, we were off and on romantically. He has, or maybe just used to have, the capacity to be generous and decent.
He’s got a troubled past, and I’ve afforded him a lot of grace for that as I also had a difficult upbringing. I’ve done a lot of inner work to comb through my trauma, to heal, and to become my best self for me and my loved ones.
In 2020 and 2021 we had a long running reciprocal, and otherwise healthy platonic friendship. We were open with each other about our positions in life, our long term goals, we confided and advised each other in our romantic endeavors. I was over the moon to have him in my life in a way that was meaningful and drama free. And then he wrecked it. I know it takes two to tango, so here’s the tea:
We go out for boba, all is good, friendly, on par with our new normal. Then he just asked if he could kiss me. I told him ‘No’ and he was respectful, but shared that he felt I was ’the one that got away’ and that he he wanted to try again. He drove this point home for eight hours. We were together chatting until 4 am. I told him I was shocked, that I had resolved my feelings for him, etc. He held his ground, he was polite, he was gentle, he talked about taking things slow, about settling down in a couple years, starting a family, yada yada. 😕 So I think about it for a day or two and I tell him that I’d be happy to try again (All those ‘resolved’ feelings came rushing back SO FAST!).
So the following weekend, my birthday weekend, we go on a date. Spend the whole day together, and at the end of it he says this: “Yea, so… I think I just wanted to get laid, and I have deep feelings for someone else.”
I was crushed. I lost who I thought was a friend and who I thought I might be able to have a genuine relationship with in under thirty seconds. All I could do was cry in disappointment in myself for being so stupid. I called a friend from my car and couldn’t drive home because I was crying so hard for almost half an hour.
At this point in my life I was very confrontation averse, but a few days later, over text, I laid into this guy like I will probably never do to another soul for as long as I live. And therein I still tried to be accountable for my role in the whole mess. I could’ve been genuinely mean, but I was more transparent, assertive, and accountable instead. His response was silence. Total silence. He never responded.
A year and a half later, (which is up to the present day) a mutual friend of ours from 7th grade passed suddenly, completely unexpectedly. I thought about him, and I couldn’t help myself. He responded in kind saying that he wishes we were on better terms and that he wishes me well no matter where we stand. So I’ve tried to talk to him and rebuild something but all I get from him are super dry responses. Now he’s asking if I have lingerie and getting generally suggestive. I’m now stuck asking myself ‘why the hell do I care? Why the hell am I trying?!’
I have good memories with him, and I know from our time as friends how much he wants out of life and how hard it is for him to change. I believe in people, including him, that as long as you’re willing to put in the work, you can achieve what you set your heart to. I think that’s one of the reason I just can’t walk away.
The last experience with him set me on a journey of finding my voice and finding people who need and are open to help. I’ve become someone that communicates better, and my life is changing in good ways for it. But when I talk to him, I can’t channel my better self.
So, I can’t see the forest between the trees. I’m looking for some judgement here. Pleas be honest. About him, about me, being it on. I need to hear it. I don’t want to be vulnerable to this guy anymore.
