2005 toyota camry reviews

I have a 2009 g37 journey sedan. Its an automatic but I would like to drive it in manual just so I can have the knowledge to do so. Thing is, ive never driven in a manual car before. A friend of mine has a 2022 toyota camry with paddle shifters and the car beeps when it needs to be shifted so that’s how he knows. Any tips for me to learn at what rpms i should shift up and down at?

I am looking to get a cheap (<£2k) car. With a priority in long lasting and typically reaching high milegage (>200k miles). They need to have decent storage space and good fuel economy. If they are known to be affordable to repair, even better.
I am NOT a car guy, but from extensive reddit research, this is what I have got to so far:
Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi (2005-2010)
Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi (2005-2010)
Toyota Corolla 1.8 (2005-2010)
Mazda 6 2.3L (2005-2010)
From my research I have seen many Volvo's which are known to be long-lasting but I understand them to be quite expensive to fix (compared to ford or toyota).
Any key models I am missing?

P.S The Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi is known to be very reliable while the same Ford Mondeo 1.6L model is apparently prone to 'oil pick up issues'. How can a non car guy navigate there way of finding which model and year are defuncts and which are work horses? Should I choose the engine first, then find what car models it was used in? Thank you

so i financed a car about 2 months ago and i was reviewing the forms after realizing my payments are way too high for a 2013 honda civic, i put 3,000 for the downpayment, they have me paying $220 bi-weekly plus the CPI which is an additional $60 over the course of 94 payments, the total cost of the car is $23,935 including the finance charge of $6,215 at a 20% apr. and to be honest the cost is just ridiculous they told me the car was one of my only options because i was “too young” and couldn’t be trusted to get the 2016 camry, i know nothing about these type of things and i just need some help in knowing what i can do or if i even got ripped off. im in texas by the way incase theres any laws that help me out

I got my car broken into this past weekend and still can't fathom why MY car was targeted. Stolen items include my dash cam, charging cable, packs of gum, hand wipes, and garage opener. Thankfully there was no physical damage to the car and it runs just fine. For context, I drive a '15 Toyota Camry with tinted windows. The car was parked by the curb right in front of my house over memorial day weekend.
For those of you who have experienced something similar, what tips do you have to prevent something like this from happening? Because chances are, if a car has been broken into once, it could happen again.

I want to buy a new(ish) suv for two reasons: 1) to try renting it out on Turo and see if how viable it is as a personal business/ if I can make enough money to justify the maintenance, cleaning expenses, and depreciation 2) so that I have a good car ready to go when my current car craps out
I drive a 2005 Toyota Highlander. Still runs like a dream but it’s approaching 220k miles and eventually all good things must come to pass. I rented a car through Turo on a ski trip out west this winter and was super impressed with the platform. What car should I get? Does Turo provide data on the cars that rent the best in a given area/part of the country? Any advice would appreciated! 🤗🤗

Last Friday, I picked up my dog up from daycare in my 2020 Toyota Tacoma, and then traveled 6-7 hours to visit my family for the weekend and Memorial Day holiday.
Before I started my trip, though, I got in my first ever accident (I’m 30 years old, nothing on my record). As we were leaving the daycare (my dog was in the passenger seat), I looked both ways to ensure no cars were coming toward me, and I turned left out of the entrance/exit. I began driving forward and a few seconds later I noticed a car that I believe came from behind in my lane and began driving next to me on the right side against the curb. I was shocked and slowed down, but he kept going and his rear driver side ended up hitting my passenger front side/bumper, creating a dent, broken plastic, and scratches on my paint. By the end of it, he was in front of me.
We both pulled over, I looked at my damage, we talked, and I suggested we call the police. He had minor paint damage, but nothing in comparison to me. He even stated his car was old and he cared nothing about it really, and it just gets him where he needs to go (basically, he didn’t seem to be bothered by the accident).
The policeman arrived, and eventually he questioned us each separately as to our testimony of the incident. I felt nervous as I was upset about the damage and it being my first accident, so I’m not exactly sure I remember all I said in the moment, but I know I started from the beginning and mentioned the turn, then I immediately felt like he was laser focused on that and he asked “Which way? Left or right?”, to which I responded, but he really didn’t give me much time to explain the whole story and basically from what the other diver claimed, they’re trying to say that I didn’t “yield to oncoming traffic,” or that I just pulled out and hit the back of his car while he was driving past. This is also insinuated in the police report from his paraphrasing of what he believes my testimony was.
This is not how it happened at all, and I’ve stated that multiple times to my insurance, but the only evidence they have to go off of is the report, and I’ve been in touch with the same officer since, and he just keeps on saying for me to go to court and he’s not willing or he “can’t” change what was written, as it’s too late.
I’ve paid for a lawyer through an app called “Off The Record,” and I explained all the details to him, but my case is still under review and I’ve not heard back yet (it’s only been a day at this point, so maybe I’ll still receive something soon).
Does anyone have any advice, though? Do you think I have a chance to get it dismissed or keep my record clean? Based on the report and location of damages, they truly think I’m at fault when I’m honestly not. I’ve tried seeing if I can get camera footage of the nearby area, too, but it doesn’t seem like there is any.

I hate trucks the most because 99% of truck users don't use their actual capabilities like hauling logs, towing huge trailers, or even carry large things in the back. Instead, most truck users have to use a bed cover to hide their bag of groceries, when a Toyota Camry could do the same thing but safer, cheaper, and cleaner. Trucks also tend to kill pedestrians because when there are 10 children in front of a truck, the driver can only see one.

I have a 22 Camry xse that I bought brand new in 01/2022. Currently has 17k miles and I’ve always done the 5,000 mile interval maintenance. This is my second Toyota after my very first car was an 05 Corolla.
Normally, I get 27-30 mpg in the cooler months. This is in eco mode. Now in summer with the ac on, I’m getting 21 mpg in eco mode. That’s a 20 to 30 percent drop.
My previous car was an Altima. Booo I know. But during the summer, it was maybe a 10 percent drop with the ac on. Is this normal for Toyotas, or should I look deeper into a potential problem?

Hello everyone I have a 2022 toyota corolla hatchback se in finish line red. It's a CVT. I'm writing this post bc I'm thinking about buying a new car but I can't decide if I want too or not. So I would appreciate it if yall convince me to keep this car or upgrade it. The upgrade has to be quick. It doesn't have to fast.
I like the Color of this car lot. It's fun to drive. But the cvt gets on my nerves sometimes. I really like the look of the hatchback. Ive seen people lower it and add wheels and it looks sooo good. I tried looking for a manual in area but they are way too over priced for being used. I called around for a supra but the wait time is over a year. It's the same for the gr corolla. I wanna see if I can get a camry trd but they might charge over msrp and I'm not going to pay over mrsp. Does anyone have any other options? Gr86? I heard it fun to drive but the whole seal gasket causing engine failure scares me abit. Has anyone driven the corolla hatchback more than 30k miles? How is it long term?

Previous cars have been Subaru Outback, Honda CRV and Toyota Camry. I’d like to stick to Japanese or European cars (so +Mazda, VW). I need 4/All wheel drive, snow safe, able to carry a decent amount, reliable and ideally not super $$$ to repair. Current car is a 2011 CRV that has an expensive repair so I’m biting the bullet. I regularly drive 500 miles a month and do longer trips quarterly. I am hybrid curious. I’d probably put 20k down and finance the rest (ideally sub 40k). Something I can drive into the ground and is safe. Something that was produced between 2021 and now. I can wait as I have another daily driver so if waiting until October would make sense I’m down. I’ve never had to buy a car without my dads input so also any tips or tricks would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is it worth ur to restore my old beaten up Camry (some bumper damage over the years) the car is in great shape and will probs last a long time but I’ve been caught in between the idea of upgrading to a newer Camry or completely revamping and restoring my Camry and keeping it for a while. Besides fixing bumpers I would probs also fix A/C add an aftermarket sunroof and toy around with maybe a new radio with Bluetooth and aux and anything else that will make rides smoother and or more fun zippy and comfortable. I just don’t know if its worth dumping a ton of money into this car if I end up getting rid of it for new tech and gadgets or more powerful car.

With beating the Tempest finale would come to a close of the original story line, elite tuners story line and legends story line so the only content that would be around after would be the normal stuff were all used to. So this is my ideas for a Tempest 4 and a finale to the Tempest story line if it ever comes out.

I am thinking of purchasing one which has spent majority of its life around Cincinnati Ohio before being moved down south. Looking at pictures online, the exterior is rust free. I will be looking at this in person, but it is about two hours away. How rust resistant are the undercarriages of these cars? Cincinnati doesn't obsess with salt as much as northern Ohio. Should I save myself the trip of these things have potential of being rust buckets underneath?
