Contributing my own experiences as I got a lot of helpful information on this sub!
Went to Osaka - Kyoto - Nara - Fukuoka - Nagasaki - Hiroshima - Matsuyama - Okayama - Himeji - Wakayama.
Will mainly be writing about highlights for each place after some general info:
General:

• Solo traveller in my early 20s from Australia. Travelling as an end of uni celebration for myself before I start my career. I am fluent in conversational Japanese, however reading and writing skills are at the level of primary school lol - google translate camera helped.
• I mainly travelled with one 32L backpack (used a light drawstring backpack on day trips when I left my 32L at hostels/ coin lockers). I did take a mostly empty suitcase to take souvenirs and just for some extra space at the end of my travels, but I left this at a friend's house while I was going around. And also to take my hiking boots for when I did the Kumano. Travelling light was amazing.
• JR pass was totally worth it as I used trains and shinkansen extensively. Also forgot my luggage like an idiot in a different city once and the JR pass saved me on a lot of time and money when I had to go back and retrieve it.
• I stayed in the cheapest hostels - great places to meet people and I met up with a few later on in my trip, which broke up the occasional boredom/loneliness of solo travel. Also went to izakaya and hot pot places with them where more = merrier.
• Got Mobal unlimited SIM card - however keep in mind that data speed slows SIGNIFICANTLY after going through the first 7GB, might as well not have been unlimited. I should have used free Wifi whenever possible.
• Withdrawing cash - major fuck up of mine, I only withdrew 10,000 to 20,000yen each time, so wasted a lot of money on transaction fees. Next time will cash out bigger amounts, especially as risk of theft in Japan is relatively low. Am counting this as a lesson for a first time traveller.
• Overall expenses including plane tickets, food/ entertainment expenses, accommodation, travel insurance (via RACV), transport, SIM card = $4000 AUD for 4 weeks (I did minimal shopping, also stayed with friends for free for 1 week).

OSAKA

• Churaisai: Okinawan cuisine restaurant - went on a friend's recommendation. Delicious, one of my favourite restaurants now. In Takatsuki, only a couple minutes walk from Settsu-Tonda Station.
• Mister Donut and Duskin Museum - small, however can decorate or make your own donuts if you book (which I didn't). Actually found the upstairs Duskin cleaning museum more fascinating.
• Namba, Dotonbori, Umeda - busiest part of Osaka, loved the vibes, great street food and shopping. Definitely get some takoyaki.
• Hattori Ryokuchi Koen - in Suita. Open air museum of old Japanese farmhouses, found it surprisingly very interesting to imagine how people must've lived. Beautiful plum blossoms in bloom as well.
• Minoh Koen - Beautiful landscape. Must try the momiji tempura (deep fried maple leaves).

NARA

• Super fast mochi pounding - see up close and then enjoy the freshly pounded delicious yomogi mochi filled with anko paste and covered in kinako powder.
• Todaiji - one of the largest bronze statues of Buddha.
• Horyuji - arrived 20 minutes before closing, was rushed through but also there were absolutely no other tourists left and the atmosphere of the quiet temple was something else.
• Kofun - ancient tombs/ graves for important people, interesting if you are into history.

KYOTO

• Arashiyama - beautiful bamboo forest but busy with tourists. My favourite part was the Monkey Park (requires a fair uphill hike but beautiful view of Arashiyama town). Tenryuji Garden was also very pretty and peaceful. Lot of food and souvenir stores.
• Kinkakuji - beautiful shrine covered in gold.
• Byodoin - tranquil garden and shrine. Located in Uji which is famous for its green tea.

FUKUOKA

• Best tonkotsu ramen I've ever had at a place called Kirin ramen. Fukuoka is famous for hakata ramen!
• Uminonakamichi Seaside Park - rented a bicycle and cycled around, is on a scenic island connected to the mainland. Then walked to Shikanoshima (which is further along the island) to the beach and Shimanoumi Jinja.
• Motsunabe at a place called Miyamoto, staff were super friendly and the food was so good! Convinced some people I met at the hostel to eat with me as nabe is something you can't really eat alone, and the place was only across the road. We had an unfinished bottle of sake there and they let us take it back to the hostel.
• Dazaifu - main temple sadly under construction but had umegae mochi (so good!). Pretty plum blossom trees. Line of shops leading to temple from the station selling souvenirs and other goodies.
• Ainoshima Cat Island - caught the ferry here with a new friend from the hostel. Beautiful ocean scenery. Friendly cats. Delicious roast curry for lunch at this hidden away restaurant, awesome vibes, they gave us pieces of sea glass to take home at the end. Very cute.
• Yatai - small mobile food stalls alongside the river in Fukuoka. The one we went to had great gyoza and vibes.

NAGASAKI

• Bomb Museum and Peace Park - heartbreaking and thought-provoking. I have been to the Hiroshima one before but this museum is definitely worth going to as well. Cheap admission, very well structured, very interesting and important lessons.
• Urakami Cathedral - beautiful cathedral but emphasised that it is not a tourist attraction.
• Oka Masaharu Museum - small 3 storey home exhibit tucked away, a shame it is not better known or advertised. I was the only one there and it looked closed from the outside when I was looking for it. Very detailed and informative sources on the war crimes committed by Japan on Korea and China.
• Dejima - open air museum of the preserved former trading Dutch post. Reconstructed buildings and exhibitions inside. Open til late.
• Champon at Lao Lee in Nagasaki's Chinatown. Must try
• Unzen Onsen - debated whether worthwhile the 1.5hr bus ride from Nagasaki but glad I went. Bubbling mud and vapour clouds. Wish I had planned better and went early enough to hike. Soaked in the onsen. Had to get used to the sulphur smell but very cool place.
• Toruko rice is a Nagasaki specialty with spaghetti, beef sauce, tonkatsu and curry pilaf on the one plate. Tasted great.
• Inusayama Observatory - took ropeway to the top of the mountain to see one of the top 3 night views in Japan.

HIROSHIMA

• Note: only time I stayed in a capsule hotel and didn't enjoy as much as my other accom. Something like 30 beds in one room, lots of business people coming and going at odd times, people not as friendly as a guesthouse. Obviously this is not relevant just to Hiroshima.
• Miyajima - ate Hiroshimayaki, climbed Mt Misen (very steep! Took around 75mins to climb 2.5km but view was worth it). Must eat age momiji manju.
• Fukuyama - went to the castle grounds, and the art museum. 2 exhibits in the art museum plus an additional special katana exhibit which we unfortunately didn't have time for. But art exhibits were cheap and I enjoyed it.

SHIMANAMI KAIDO CYCLING: ONOMICHI to IMABARI 76km

• Stayed in Onomichi the night before - small seaside town. Cinema Museum and History Museum were small but interesting, especially the cinema museum. However there is no English information so found it a bit inaccessible.
• Left early to rent the bicycle and catch the ferry across to the cycle starting point. Would recommend anyone in the area to do the cycle, it is absolutely beautiful going across the 7 islands between Honshu and Shikoku, biking across the ocean on the bridges connecting the land. I am not a cyclist but relatively fit so I finished in about 6 hours, and only stopped briefly for breaks. Because I left so early many of the stores weren't open for the first half of the trip. Doable for beginners as well, you can cycle part of it and go back or catch a bus, split it into two days by staying a night somewhere, or cruise along the whole thing in about 10 hours. Path is incredibly well marked and easy to follow, roads are safe and lead all the way to Imabari station, the finishing point.
• Area is famous for citrus, lots of citrus desserts even in the konbini.

MATSUYAMA

• Caught the train to Dogo Onsen after my cycle. Unfortunately the main onsen was under construction, and only allowing limited numbers to a restricted area. I opted to go to the two smaller onsens connected to it called Tsubakinoyu (soooooo hot! Couldn't stay in longer than 5 minutes at a time. Awesome for my fatigued muscles) and Asukanoyu (the newest of the three onsens, very clean and very warm).

OKAYAMA

• I may have been getting tired of travel at this point but felt like there wasn't much to enjoy here. Okayama Castle was pretty from the outside, they had English resources but I still found it a bit hard to follow. I should've also eaten beforehand as there was only a small cafe inside. Korakuen Garden is famous and huge but the grass looked a bit dead when I went. Still beautiful though, nice place for a picnic.
• Kurashiki was very cool! Old preserved merchant town with buildings converted into museums, shops and restaurants. Area is famous for producing denim. Easy access via train from Okayama.
• Kibiji / Kibi plans - rented a mamachari (bicycle) but I got lost and didn't make it the whole 17km between Bizen-Ichinomiya station and Sojo station as I didn't have enough time. Easy to get lost if not paying attention to signs. Pleasant trail meandering through rice fields, going past historical sites.

HIMEJI

• One of the few surviving castles in Japan. Obviously maintained and refurbished but walls still intact after hundreds of years! Beautiful structure, extensive and fascinating history exhibits. Definitely worth going.
• An artist called Yuki Matsuoka had a little exhibition in the shopping street between Himeji station and the castle. Was some really cool art, and artist is hella friendly.

WAKAYAMA - KUMANO KODO PILGRIMAGE HIKE, NAKAHECHI ROUTE

• Spent one night in Tanabe, then hiked 4 full days (80km total for me) staying in Tsugizakura, Yunomine onsen, Koguchi and Shingu.
• World Heritage Site. Beautiful and challenging hike across mountains. Saw 2 wild deer, felt very lucky. Visited the three Grand Shinto Shrines in the region: Hongu Taisha, Nachi Taisha and Hayatama Taisha, as well as Nachi Falls, the tallest single-tier waterfall in Japan.
• Required extensive planning as minimal food available, accommodation is limited and needs to be booked early. If staying in Yunomine Onsen my hostel had 3 of its own private onsens inside included in accommodation fee. Blissful after a day of hiking.
• I regret not collecting stamps from the very start, as if you do this and the Camino de Santiago they award you with a 'dual pilgrim' recognition, as they are the only two pilgrimage routes listed as World Heritage sites. Also the stamps are very detailed and unique to each area.
• I caught the train back to Tanabe from Shingu along the coast - stunning ocean scenery and beach areas. Stayed another night in Tanabe before heading to Kansai Airport to return home.

Had the most wonderful time :)) Just missed the cherry blossom season but also means I missed the peak tourist season too so am content. Would love to explore the north and east areas of Japan next time I travel!

Basic info before I get into my question. - I have been in Japan for about 4 years (Okinawa) - I don’t have any Japanese friends 🥺 doesn’t help that I’m as introverted as them at times. - I learned the Base of my Japanese in high school from an Japanese class. - I can talk about daily life (more or less) the weather, order a Coffee at Starbucks and other Misc. and some anime related stuff. Maybe like N4 level but idk. 毎日日本語上手です🙃
Anywho. I recently got back into wanting to improve , despite being here for 4 years I have maybe improved 15-20% more than what my base level was when I left high school (4 years ago)

I’ve been seeing a lot of the input method. I which sounds great but how do I effectively use it?
I do enjoy Anime and JDramas and there’s even some Japanese Youtubers I enjoy watching. From what I understand having hours and hours of Japanese speech around you, you will eventually start to absorb some of the material, which so far after a day I started to recognize a few more kanji.
However I did start to get frustrated(maybe not the right word) after awhile because there was only so much I could understand.
Should I be extracting parts of the Japanese Subtitles and writing them down to study later?
I also have been utilizing Shadowing in my way to work. A little dangerous, I know but I’ve memorized some phrases. Maybe not all that relevant in day to day conversation but it’s working.
Should I utilize some more Genki Books?

I am planning my first trip to Zion National Park in April (likely the 3rd-5th or 10-12th) and have a few questions around planning this trip as a newbie to Zion! As I am not staying at the Zion lodge, I won't be able to drive the scenic highway to the Grotto, which opens a couple questions:

1. How busy will the shuttle system be at 7 a.m. on a Monday/Tuesday in early April? I've seen many stories online about long summer waits (especially during holidays), but how busy are they during early April mid-week?
2. With the first shuttles starting at 7 a.m., what is a good time to arrive/park at the Visitors center? My plan is currently ~6 a.m., depending on shuttle capacity.
3. My plan is to do Angels Landing (if I can get a permit!) while there. Does anyone have experience with the lottery system as a solo-hiker?
4. Weather. I am an experienced hiker and can prepare for all conditions, I've been monitoring the weather forecast, what can I traditionally expect/plan for in early April (especially the early morning hikes)?

I am open to any additional solo trips/tricks as well! I am planning on staying in St. George, and driving through the Mt. Carmel highway to visit the Canyon Overlook trail as well one day. Appreciate any additional insight/advice!

No experience necessary for the laborer custodial or maintenance mechanic positions. It helps on the interview but you can surely think of maintenance related experience to relay for an interview. Based on fixing things around your house, the car etc. Always mention working safely.

Pro tip: You can apply for any job that has an exam opening and the test is administered local to yourself. Make sure you're serious and score decently; you can turn down the job offer. Keep a physical copy of your exam score, I believe they are good for two years.
The reason is: These job postings can be posted externally at capacity for testing, meaning they will not allow you to take the exam if they have enough qualified applicants. However, if you have a test score on the books, you are a qualified applicant.

MVO= CDL B Can only drive box trucks on public roads, can drive anything for moves on postal property.

Long backstory: I'm [F]15 and I live in an apartment with my mom[42] and recently my dad[39]. My parents split[after moving to st.paul] when I was young and because of my mom and her issues I didn't have a relationship with my father other than spending the night with him, my uncle and his wife and my cousin every few months. Otherwise he was a ghost. When we moved back to my hometown where my family lives when I was 6 or so, my dad and I started to reconnect as much as we could. He was always nonchalant and quiet but very hardworking and usually reliable. I lived with him for a few years when I was 10 to 12 while my mom was really deep in her addiction until she got clean, and things happened and I had to stay with her. During those 2 years dad had a crazy native girlfriend [30 something] and later a crazy stupid girlfriend at the time who was 22. She was completely insufficient in any useful life skills and had previously been in 2 relationships (In the first one she was abusive as she told me and in the second one she was abused). When my father got with her she was about to lose her town boys from her second relationship for doing weed and coke during her pregnancy and since her ex had a felony and domestic charges they were going to be put into foster care. In the end she lost them both because she failed to make a genuine effort to either get clean or keep them, god forbid both at the same time. And convinced dad to get a dog I explicitly told him I did not want and was not going to help take care of. While after all that,,, dad with the scarps scraped together a semi successful restaurant.
Fast forward 7 months she's crashed all 3 of my dad's cars thanks to the weather up here near the border, and got dad sent to prison[She left an unlicensed played white car full of drugs in front of his business and he took the fall because the police said it was in his. Something I was not made aware of until 2 months after my father had disappeared from prison which I did not know about either. But I'll get to that] for what was supposed to be 4 years for an almost federal level drug charge after getting pregnant with him. I was while he was in the process of being detained, told J was going to have a sleepover at my mom's with no further details. And was later told everything[she knew] a week before his trial by my mom. During this time my dad's girlfriend decided to go on a week long trip to Las Vegas and leave the dog she insisted on getting alone in his kennel and texted me to 'take him out', mind you I did not live in the same building as her. I ended up just taking him with me much to my father's dismay because she harassed him non stop about not having the dog anymore. She later brought to Cane corso puppies while dad was in prison with his money, and got kicked out because they didn't have papers for them and it was originally a no pets building. Thankfully for her though she got into the Jeremiah program and had a place to live after, and dad did not get his security deposit back because she let his new puppies pee and poop everywhere, especially my old room which still has most of my stuff because I only packed to have a sleepover at my mom's months prior.
After all that, my dad got out 3 years early on good behavior because they were getting full of actually bad criminals and couldn't hold everyone, and let the small fries free.
So his child with her was born right after he got out, and she got her rights terminated because she was on drugs this entire pregnancy too, and dad has fought tooth and nail to get the rights to have her the past three months she's been alive. My mom thankfully let them both stay here while everything was sorted out legally,, plus it was the only place dad could get her approved to stay at. And she even let his somehow still girlfriend stay there for a bit too even though that is completely illegal because she is supposed to have no contact. After she did drugs in mom's sober apartment and I told mom how much I hate her she refused to let her over anymore, and I have also been taking care of the baby until my mom gets off work after I get home from school everyday while trying to keep my grades up and continue participating in my activities.
Another detail I remembered, One day before dad went to prison she and I got into a fight after most of the bad stuff before he went to prison, and he decided to talk to me instead of her because I was her by talking about the boys she lost to the system. After he hit me multiple times AND I hit her back once, he was present in the room and watched the entire thing. I mean I get I'm not the feminine daughter you wanted but seriously dad?
Anyways I'm working on my grades taking care of my dad's kid for a few hours every day.
On to the AITH part:
Today my mom had a dentist appointment, and my dad had to leave for work at the usual time when I got home from school. I actually skipped school for an unrelated reason but when I got home had to take care of a baby, dad told be mom had an appointment and she wouldn't be back at all today[recently mom's been hanging out with this guy she likes everyday and hour before dad gets home leaving me with the baby an hour after I would prefer to go to sleep for school and an hour longer than before.] That after her appointment she's going to a NA meeting and then going to her friends, and that mom said it was okay for my dad's ex to come over and help me watch the baby while dad was at work.
Now I have often handed her off as soon as I could, and I Am Not The BEST at taking care of her. But mom and dad know how much I hate that woman who is somehow almost ten years older than me with the maturity of a 7th grader.
So I told my father no. Dad said mom said it was okay, and I calmly said I don't care I will not let her in. I can take care of her by myself. Dad proceeded to say "Then I'll stay to let her in." So he went outside.
I assumed he went to work cause he would be late if he didn't leave then and there but just in case I did the chain lock. And who would've guessed 20 minutes later he comes back, unlocks the door and trusts to open it with his girlfriend standing beside him. He knocks when I don't open it and asks me to let them in and she is going to help me while dad is gone. I hesitantly set the baby down in her bassinet and went and unlocked the door and told dad, she is not coming inside here.
Me and dad are for a few minutes, and dad says he won't let me have her here alone" like that's been an issue until now. and I brag that "she hasn't cried since you left 20 something minutes ago and was fine till you made me set her down." He responds "you know earlier this week cos came by because the neighbors complained she was crying all night." I did not know that, and she was a fussy baby either way even when all her needs were met she would cry just cause she could. Especially so when she was with me. But all last week she was terrible for everyone including him and mom. And the fact he had the audacity to say that to me. I rudely told him no, and he said "If you won't let her in then I'll just stay home." Which is a big deal for him because he had to cut his hours when he got temporary custody of her and has been late a lot. But I was angry and would rather drop out of highschool and work to pay dads rent then be in a room with her so I said "do it." All the while her girlfriend stood there dumbfounded saying "I thought I was going to see my baby." Even though she has historically done a worse job than me, and it is straight up completely lose all custody illegal to have her with the baby outside of scheduled visits once of which she had this morning while my as home.
He did it, and right after he said "If you're going to act like an adult I'm going to treat you like an adult." Told me to get out of his face, aka 4 feet away from him in the shared living room and indirectly threatened to hit me if I didn't leave because I'm an “adult” now.
Dad has chosen to ignore my existence, and indirectly disowned me, and refused to let me help him even though his hands are full.
I've been talking to my mom as much as I could be she has only responded to a handful of my messages
It's 6 hours later close too when dad would get off work. And he called his girlfriend to get him food even though I had a pizza[I had to beg my mom to order me because dad was ignoring me and I doubt he would've got me food]and asked if he wanted any to which he ignored me again.
I'm sitting in my room and I've been crying on and off and I really don't know what to do.shoudk I apologize? Would he even listen?
Am I really the AH for making my dad not go to work cause he didn't trust me enough to leave me with his kid.

Hey guys. I’m moving from Nanaimo from Vancouver for the first time. I moved from Toronto 3 years ago and started working in film. Pretty sick of film now so I’m going back to school at VIU.
I’ve only been to the island once and that was last year when my mom came to visit, we did a little trip together and I fell in love. I move April 1st and was curious about what current residence think of the area. I don’t have any work lined up so that’s the first order of business when I get there. My partner and I recently visited the Zoologist atelieshowroom in Toronto. During our visit, we tried all the scents, including their unreleased scents. I hope you'll enjoy this review and find it useful for planning your trip!
Good to know:

1. The atelier is by appointment only. You need to email them through their website to book an appointment. Each appointment is around 1.5hrs-2hrs long, so block out enough time for it.
2. Zoologist is located on the OUTSKIRTS of Toronto. It's 45mins by car from downtown Toronto or 2hrs via public transit. Google maps has problems finding the location and will show results for Niche Essences (an outlet that carries various brands) as well. The correct address is the one near York University located in a strip mall.
3. Bring water, and be prepared for a multi-sensory journey. You'll be smelling their entire catalogue of 20+ scents, and you want to give yourself room to enjoy it. If you're visiting Toronto, you might want to have this as a "main" activity since it does require a bit of planning/time/effort.

A little background: I've been collecting perfumes on and off since 1997. My family worked in beauty, so there would be free samples coming in *every day* when growing up. I fell off it for a while, then restarted an interest in 2013 with Le Labo's Santal33. I usually go for resins, ambers, incense, and wood; Serge Lutens makes up 70% of my collection. I have no prior experience with Zoologist.
Zoologist experience:
Despite the plain exterior, the shop is beautifully decorated. On entry, there is a large monstera plant with a showcase of perfume in the front and center. The left side hangs large portraits of each Zoologist animal profiles, and the right has shelves with different types of bottles, samples and boxes to purchase. Interspersed are stained glass tiffany lamps and other curios. There's a feeling that you've just stepped into an art gallery, and the curated items: the lamps, the plant, the animal portraits, sets the tone for the Zoologist brand.

Victor welcomes you to the space, and I remember thinking that he looks the part: on the day we met, he was wearing a dark blue suit with a yellow kerchief square. In absolute honesty: I did not know he was the founder and creative director of the brand. However I found him extremely kind and knowledgeable, and set upon us an olfactory journey guided by their lightest to heaviest scents.

Scent impressions
**technically we went through all the scents, but here's the ones that I remember. I wish I took down better notes**
Bat -- Fruit bat, not the vampire kind. Juicy opening loaded with tropical fruit, a hint of sharp greenness from vetiver. The earth-soil note is a bit funky and fertile, if you've dug around with garden mulch and compost you'll know it instantly.
Beaver -- Clean hamster or chinchilla. Woodshavings, dried food pellets, musky small animal. Rawhide leather, not the polished suede or upholstery you'll get from Tom Ford/more tame designer.
Bee -- hyperrealistic honey and beeswax. I thought it was rather sweet, almost cloying in the shop. Afterwards I went home and sprayed it on my bedsheets, and had a nightmare about being inside a bee colony. There's a dirt note in here which is smells exactly like the hot, warm interior of a hive.
Camel -- Nice, gentle incense. More of an incense stick than the smoky plumes of CdG Black or Dior Fahrenheit. A whiff of church, but not the full altar.
Chameleon -- Wonderful translucency and freshness. It wears like a creamy twist on a classic fougere to me with the ylang-ylang & cashmeran notes apparent, very wearable unisex fragrance
Cow -- Amish homestead farm in Philly/Vermont. Rolling grass hillsides, pastoral. Milk note comes in later, unpasteurized and full cream, but not sweet. Quite interesting layered with Chipmunk, like a milk-cookie combo
Civet -- Reads like a belle-epoque style perfume, glamorous and heady. Perfect for sitting in questionable bars swapping dead drops in a Cold War espionage movie.
Dodo (original) -- Blackberry canes in summer, absolutely delicious that falls away to a polarizing cumin. The cumin is so strong I could smell it from outside the door.
Dragonfly -- You know in The Perfect Scent about with the avid descriptions of waterlilies, lotuses, slow-moving river in Egypt? How the entire team went down for a research brief, and the beauty of the river, the reeds, the sparkling shimmer of sun-on-water? I remember reading the book and being utterly disappointed with the actual perfume, this is what Les Jardins sur le Nil should smell like. This is the one I would buy for my friends as presents, along with the book, as a gift set.
Hummingbird -- feels like 24 Faubourg, but without the effervescence of the former. A rich nectar floral.
Hydrax -- Not for me but my partner really loved it; absolute barnyard.
Macaque (yuzu) -- Victor mentioned that he wears this one
Nightingale -- Extremely realistic plum blossom orchard. The tartness keeps it fresh and not too cloying. I think it loses a little of the tartness in the drydown, which is a warm and smooth sandalwood/labaduam. A very wearable scent that feels happy.
Scared Scarab -- Victor said it's inspired by the blue lotus flower, which is a type of incense used by ancient Egyptians. Definitely smells like it, a simmeringly hot sandy desert with an almost mineral-incense tone. Quite lovely and evocative, I prefer it to Camel.
Seahorse -- Warm sunny chillhop lofi beach. To me, it sounds like the new Gorillaz album track Tormenta ft. Bad Bunny.
Snowy Owl -- I liked this scent, but my partner loves it. It definitely smells arctic and icy, with hay and grass below. The mint note is lovely and addictive. I didn't care for the coconut since it reads 'tropical' to me but I appreciate how it adds a soft creamyness, like being enveloped in a cozy wintry nest.
Squid -- I love this. I told Victor it smells like HK and he was very confused. When I got home I realized why, the creamy toffee sweet opening and inky deep water smells is EXACTLY like drinking a super-sweetened milk tea while walking along the Avenue of Stars/Harbourfront at night. The ocean saltiness, the dried seafood and diesel boats while sipping your ultra-sweet condensed milk red tea at night. Absolutely gorgeous.
T-Rex -- lf you've ever melted plastic in a microwave or set your CPU on fire, smells like this. I like it cos its a very nostalgic scent, like burning your own CD-Rs

unreleased (R) -- Spicy gourmand, my partner adores it. It's sweet without being sticky, she guessed immortelle but actually it's a different heart note, however it does have that sunshine-y goldenness. I thought it smells like caramel pie crust.
unreleased (P) -- Sartorial fragrance that is extremely polished. If you like PdM or classic Penhaligon's style, you'll like this; the different notes played on the same violin, or different cloth cut into a classic 3-piece. I love this one and would buy it in a heartbeat.
unreleased (O.M) -- Cool botanical floral, the backroom of a florist shop in winter with the airflown tropical/hothoused flowers sitting in water.

Hello, me and my wife are traveling to Costa Rica for the first time for our honey moon, from May 13th-25th 2023 this year. we are in our late 20’s (27+) My first question is how is the weather in may does it rain every day? Is there any sunny days? Will we be able to do any attractions and tourist things such as Zip line, jet ski, horse back riding on the beach, see the wild life. Looking for great food places & bars. Also what are great places to do all these things we were looking to stay more central of Costa Rica like Manuel Antonio. We are also looking to travel to many places to stay a few nights in different areas of Costa Rica. What would be the smartest way to travel, should we rent a car? We’ve decided to airbnb.

I am so sick of all this normalized dysfunctional Dog Nuttery crap and esp. with neighbors. I live in an apartment building and it is getting worse and worse with all the dog nutter entitled selfish entitled behavior of these dog beast pets and their owners/residents/fellow tenants/neighbors.
I walked outside this evening to go check my mailbox, excited finally after days/week of waiting on delayed USPS packages that had arrived, only to here loud obnoxious aggressive barking upon exiting my stairwell on the concrete pathway on way to walk to mailbox. I yell "shut up!" -just because I felt like it-sometimes it works, sometimes not. This one, No.
The beast kept threatening me as I walked further out to parking area to walk around vehicles to get to mailbox to left. I looked to see source of noise-it was from a couple of 20 some females' dog beast pet who moved in late last Fall (along with several other Dog Nutter owners) and with their chained/tied up dog beast pet tied up/onto the bed/back of their truck outside (it is 22 degrees out -weather report says 14 degrees F feels like)-it wasn't a bully breed-it was a young adult (was a puppy barking aggressively at me in parking lot area last Summer)-black mixed mutt of some sort-now medium sized dog to the right of my stairwell pathway close to second stairwell pathway in their parked black truck. No owner in sight.
And all the way back to my Building stairwell entrance with my packages , the Beast continued to bark aggressively at me very LOUDLY. Extremely invasive and annoying especially when I have just about had it with all the other Dog Nutter behavior (some of it extremely vindictive/evil/involving bully UA Banned breeds/nutter owners living above me and covert aggressive harassment tactics on me below) that these wicked owners get away with here with hardly any of the "animal addendum" rules on lease enforced here.
No, it is definitely not OKAY to let your dog beast bark aggressively in a threatening matter at other tenants/neighbors living here exiting their stairwell/bldg and going outside and back or simply going for walk. More and more are letting these mutt dog beast FREE Range here too...clearly falsely thinking their dog would never attack anyone when already some leashed have growled and aggressively barked at me-this one and some others. These DOG nutters only baby talk these dogs...never discipline and likely assume I am EVIL when really all it tells me is that the Dog beast is EVIL as I am def. opposite of Evil (does not mean I am perfect or have not sinned of course).

for context, I am a 20 y/o girl, currently in my second year of university. I live in the UK.
I'm making this post because I'm very convinced I have ADHD, but it isn't diagnosed.
I realised this because I was very depressed one or two years ago because I had no discipline/ couldn't get anything done which caused me to fall into a slump etc. many other factors came into play and if you check my page my other post is about this situation.
Anyway, after going through therapy, doing a lot of self-development and the weather improving I felt a lot better and I can gladly say I'm no longer depressed. However, many 'symptoms' remain, for example; I cannot get out of bed in the morning, some days I don't do my skincare/hygiene routines, I cannot focus on anything to save my life, and my sleep pattern is still AWFUL.
I was thinking about it, I'm not feeling depressed but I still can't get anything done, it did a number on me mentally and kinda caused me to spiral into negativity, but I picked myself up (thanks to what I learnt during cbt) and I journaled.
Whilst journalling I realised that many of my issues are found in individuals with inattentive ADHD. in my first Reddit post many people thought I had ADHD, and suggested to get it checked out, but because I was only familiar with the hyperactive type I dismissed it.
but looking back, I'm frustrated that I didn't look into it earlier, my life would be a lot easier.
I don't want to self diagnose but I'm pretty sure I have ADHD
my main issues are;
- time blindness I literally got fired from my old job for never being on time, I'm always late to meet my friends, and appointments, my friends even made a fake time to meet because they knew id be late. and it's not because I don't take anyone's time seriously, I just literally have no concept of time/ cannot get up to get ready.
-executive dysfunction now this is the one which has impacted me the most. I can't get up in the mornings to get things done, it takes me ages to study, I will want to do things and be productive but i literally cannot get up to do anything. it's really taking a toll on my studies. I even procrastinated making an appointment for 6 months.
-forgetfulness/bad memory I don't know which day it is most times, I can't remember a lot of things, I lose things, I left my keys in the door the other day... the list goes on.
-hyperfixations- whenever I get into something I become obsessed with it... I can't consume media of said thing normally or causally. whether it's music, tv shows etc, it literally becomes my personality.
-I'm not quite sure what this is called but I can't get anything done without external stimulation because of my short attention span,(can't go out, clean, draw, or write without music or a podcast) I always thought tiktok and other short form content fried my brain so I deleted them, but it didn't occur to me that neurotypical people don't go crazy consuming media on tiktok lmao.
and then there's the emotional side- im a very emotional person, I struggle with regulating my emotions, and I have a journal hundreds of pages long just to process my emotions. I'm very, very sensitive, the smallest things change my mood etc. I'm very sensitive to rejection too.
and because of all of these things combined im struggling to make any significant change in life, most days feel like a loop of yesterday. I want to get a job but I know I won't be able to commit, im doing well in uni by last-minute studying, it's just frustrating.
so I did research and gathered information on my symptoms, I found out about the right-to-choose initiative, printed the forms and bring it to my GP(doctor's) appointment.
here's where things go kinda downhill. my GP was extremely dismissive and rude about it (or maybe im just sensitive), but she was saying how many people feel this way and not to listen to what the internet says.
anyway, I persisted because It's affecting my life and studies so much, she said she would refer me which is a good thing but then I remembered how long the waiting lists are, even for private organisations.
and the thought of medication scares me to be honest, I know it would probably change my life, but relying on meds to function normally for the rest of my life is a little scary. either way, I don't know if I have ADHD for sure, medication would probably allow me to make such changes, I know it's down to me to put in effort too, but I've been doubting myself a lot.
like what if I am just making it up, or am just lazy like my parents have been telling me, it's messing with my head and I guess advice/ another perspective would help.

The stray cat, and rainy days
They had always been the best of friends. Growing up together, and with similar interests, the two got along splendidly. So did their parents, meaning the two often got to hang out. Day, after day, the two ventured out together. Playgrounds, parks, and going to get ice cream together. They were joined at the hip throughout their entire childhood. Even having a “secret base” of sorts. An old shack somewhere in the woods that had long been abandoned. Being their safe space of sorts. Free from parents, curfew, or whatever else the two would run from. Though, all good things come to an end, one way or another. Natsuki had to move and did so suddenly. Unable to even say goodbye to his best friend.
Your character, at first saddened, pulled through and carried on with his life. Formed new friendships, and had a rather normal journey throughout the education system. He was energetic and outgoing. Easy to approach, and by some considered popular. Whatever skills or attributes he has that set him apart, you get to decide. This normal upbringing was cut short as soon as he graduated and began to attend college. Actually, it still remained normal throughout his first week. He was getting used to the campus, and meeting people, and his studies began swimmingly. All up until the rainy day of his second week. Luckily, he had seen the weather forecast and knew of the impending rain, bringing an umbrella in preparation.
Already having attended for a week, he knew of a path to the station. Though, with the rain, he thought to try and seek out a shortcut through a nearby park. There, he walked and walked until he saw someone in the distance. Stood in the rain, looking down at what seemed to be a cat. A stray, most likely, as the stranger began shielding the cat with his body. Lacking an umbrella himself, he could do no more than this.
