The advent of mass inequality, prostitution and slavery is therefore the cause for the veil proeminence. Patriarchy being the second one, but not mandatory, since many highly patriarchal tribes are fine if their girls walk naked in the savanah
The main argument of conservatives that covering women's body is necessary to preserve society integrity doesn't stand on any rational ground. In France, the only guys I saw harrassing women on the streets were Arabs and black Muslims. Islam, rather than preventing degeneracy, only amplifies it, because it stigmatizes women as "strangers" and object of conquests, like precious jewels that have to be hidden. The veil fetishizes women, maybe giving them more "dignity"...while also ushering more and more desire and fantasy.
Humans crave what is hidden and forbidden. That is an universal trait of human nature. Getting crazy over a pair of tits or a strand of hair is purely cultural. Saudis are sexually aroused when they see a woman's hair, just like Europeans used to lust after ankles and feet, the only showing parts. Not anymore.
If we want less harassment and more respect, we need more mixity and less covering.

I (24)f live alone, I’ve been living alone for over 4 years. I’m currently renting out an apartment I’ve lived in for about 1.5 years. Recently I’ve lost my job about a month ago, I’ve been working on trying to get another job and pulling money from retirement accounts to get by because I was denied unemployment. I let me landlord know my circumstances (BIG MISTAKE) I told him to garner sympathy because I wasn’t sure when I’d have access to more money and the first was going soon. I ask him to give me some extra time since I lost my job unexpectedly. He was kind regarding my circumstances since I’ve lived here for a while and pay my rent. My retirement money can and I payed on the first of the previous month, now were coming into this month. Work is still no coming by, I need to withdraw more retirement money to get buy. However I’ve been having him randomly calling to ask me about my working status since I’ve lost my job which is invasive to say the least. Yesterday was the first and he called me at 8pm at night I didn’t answer. I already had already made my decision to call him the next day to talk. I work up around 8-9am and I see this guy called me again at 7am. I’m annoyed but whatever. I get up and start my day because I have a doctors appointment today and I need to get dressed to leave before the afternoon. I’m getting ready to shower around 10am I hear this man knocking on my back door, I’m confused like why is he here?!, then he calls me again. I’ve never had him hound me like his before for the rent I was baffled. I was a 100 layers of uncomfortable and confused. I’m not dressed and someone is knocking on my door ?? I have this boundary with everyone my friends and family as well don’t pop up to my place. Stuff like that messes with my anxiety. I don’t do well with confrontation and I was definitely pissed. My place is a month to month I honestly am considering telling him to come by for the last bit of rent tomorrow and give him a 30day notice. This places also recently started having a roach problem I don’t wanna live like this.

I guess in that regard I'm like a wide-eyed kid in the candy store when it comes to books, but rather than candy it's deep discussions that make my heart skip a beat.
Personality-wise, I'm a quiet person who doesn't say much, but inside I'm full of untold stories. Marriagefree, childfree, and petfree, I embody the saying "If you love something set it free" to the T. Looks-wise, I have a slim physique but my mind is a behemoth of curiosity and wonder, churning with tides of questions that even Google can't answer, as I'm constantly seeking answers to everything. And standing at six feet tall, I guess that makes me vertically blessed for contemplating the infinitely vertical possibilities of the universe.

I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan; I re-read the books typically once a year. I also adore the movies, and find all of Tolkien's legendarium absolutely awesome. Truly one of my favorite hobbies so I'd like to offer some critiques and excitement of flavor gems from Tales of Middle Earth. I won't do every card, but I'll comment on some individual cards and how WOTC did on it. I will comment on the cards abilities but only insofar as it impacts the flavor; i.e. what the card is doing not power level, etc.
To be clear: I understand there are sacrifices you need to make for the greater game, and sometimes those come first. For these articles: I am looking at each card in a vacuum, so if I seem harsh it's because I am using a single lens.

Flavor
So in the books Frodo does not go immediately from Hobbiton to Bree. Instead the story progresses slowly: Frodo plans to leave the Shire and make his way east. His first stop is a little country called Buckland; where Merry is from. Buckland is a colony of the shire, and it allows Tolkien to slowly ratchet up the feeling of adventure. Frodo first goes from one Hobbit land to another, before going to Bree (where both Hobbits and Men live) and only then going to Rivendell. At his stop in Buckland Frodo takes a bath at his 'new' home, there they sing a bath song. Here is the song:
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day that washes the weary mud away! A loon is he that will not sing: O! Water Hot is a noble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain, and the brook that leaps from hill to plain; but better than rain or rippling streams is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed; but better is Beer if drink we lack, and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high in a fountain white beneath the sky; but never did fountain sound so sweet as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
It's a silly song, and one of Tolkien's many expositions which flesh out his world (and far more natural than most fantasy, even eclipsing A Song of Ice and Fire).
Color
Which brings me to my first critique: this song shouldn't be blue. The song is all about returning home after a long walk and mild adventure. It's not intellectual at all; and the bath isn't really 'water' per se but the enjoyment of making it home after a journey. It feels far more Green-Red to these eyes.
Abilities
Which, again, is my big critique. I would have made this more about 'washing away' which I think could have been a rummaging ability. Maybe a mulching ability instead of just draw and discard. I could also see something like 'remove poison counters' to build into the flavor of 'cleaning'.
This isn't bad in my opinion, it's just a touch imperfect. My guess is they made the card and then found the flavor next, which works fine. There are going to be misses and the fact it hit at all is kinda neat. It's not one of the more famous parts of The Lord of the Rings even if it's one of Tolkien's better songs.

"May 22, 2023 will mark the anniversary of the future free Russian republic. But we won't stop until we get to Moscow," Ilia Ponomarev, a Russian opponent of Vladimir Putin, tells Slate. From Kiev, where he currently lives in exile, this former elected member of the Duma, who opposed the annexation of Crimea in 2014, represents the Freedom Legion of Russia, a unit of Russian fighters incorporated into the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
On Monday, May 22, these anti-Kremlin Russian fighters led an armed incursion into the Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine. As a result, the territory was placed under an "anti-terrorist" regime for 24 hours by Moscow, which finally claimed to have "crushed" the perpetrators of the operation on Tuesday May 23. This was the second ground incursion into Russian territory since the start of the war in Ukraine - on March 2, the villages of Lyubetchané and Souchany, in the Russian oblast of Bryansk, had already been attacked by another formation, the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK).
"It's time for Russian citizens to take back their country"
"Even if we didn't last long, we flew the white-blue-white flag on our land," says Ilia Ponomarev in an interview with Slate, pointing out that the unit is made up of four battalions.
Referring to his exile, the former Russian MP evokes the figure of General de Gaulle, who was able to continue the fight against Nazi Germany from England. "De Gaulle is a source of inspiration. His aim was to defeat Hitler, liberate France and re-establish democracy, which was already present before the Nazi invasion. For me, the goal is to create, in Europe, a Russia that would have a political structure totally different from the one before."
To this end, Ilia Ponomarev participates in the Congress of People's Deputies. "This is a shadow Russian parliament, created by a dozen former deputies, which is designing the future by drafting a new constitution," elaborates the dissident politician. "The plan is to establish a transition period that could last probably two years, during which time this new Constitution would be adopted following free and fair elections."

"It's time for Russian citizens to take back their country. Today, we often hear reproaches that no Russian opposes Putin and his war," declared Anastasiia Sergeeva, secretary of the Civic Council, a political association based in Warsaw (Poland), in a video published in November 2022.
Interviewed by Slate, she describes the Civic Council, made up of twenty permanent members, as "a grassroots initiative of Russian citizens who believe that military resistance is inevitable to topple Putin's regime and end the war in Ukraine".
The Russian Volunteer Corps, a paramilitary unit with a neo-Nazi leader
According to our information, this Civic Council is responsible for recruiting the Russian Volunteer Corps, the armed group that carried out the brief incursion into the Bryansk region last March. Their leader, Denis Kapoustine - also known as Denis Nikitine, or "White Rex"-, known for his membership of the neo-Nazi movement, immortalized the moment on video.
"The incursion into the Belgorod region was carried out by two units: on the one hand, Ilia Ponomarev's legion, and on the other, the Russian Volunteer Corps, a paramilitary unit founded in August 2022, made up of people experienced in combat," notes Adrien Nonjon, a doctoral student at Inalco specializing in the post-Soviet far right and nationalist movements.
On Wednesday May 24, following the operation in western Russia, the two groups held a joint press conference in Ukraine. Denis Kapoustine said he was "satisfied with the result" of the attack, declaring that his troops had held "around 42 square kilometers" of Russian territory. Contacted by Slate, the RDK press service did not respond to our questions.

Since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24, 2022, Poland has played a major role not only in delivering weapons and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, but also in gathering information. A Polish Ministry of Defense source explains: "The Russian Volunteer Corps wants and needs to show that there is an independent Russian force that opposes Putin's regime. Its creator, Denis Kapoustine, lived in Ukraine before February 24, 2022. He was helped by a Pole to create the Russian Volunteer Corps. The Ukrainian Armed Forces give the Russians of the RDK the opportunity to develop and fight for the liberation of Russia."
According to Ilia Ponomarev, the legion is made up of several categories of volunteers: "Russian soldiers who defected, in Kharkiv for example, prisoners of war, but also Russians married to Ukrainian women and Russian political activists who left the country at the start of the war".
Ideological oppositions
In August 2022, the various Russian armed and political groups present in Ukraine sealed an agreement with the Irpin Declaration, named after the town on the outskirts of Kiev that was heavily targeted by Moscow's armies at the start of the war and became a symbol of resistance to the Russian invasion.
"On August 31, 2022, the Russian Volunteer Corps, the Freedom Legion of Russia and the National Republican Army, a partisan group in Russia, jointly signed a declaration enacting a form of implicit alliance in the name of safeguarding Russia. [Their aim is] to remove Vladimir Putin from power and help the Ukrainians recover the territories they have lost in the Donbass and Crimea", explains Adrien Nonjon.

During the Belgorod operation, however, the RDK explained on its Telegram channel that it wanted to mark its opposition to its ad hoc allies: "We adhere to right-wing conservative political views and traditionalist beliefs," it wrote. Any political initiatives from outside organizations are not linked to the RDK's official position."
From the Russia Freedom Legion, Ilia Ponomarev makes a similar observation. "We considered creating a new joint regiment with the RDK, but in the end, because of their very right-wing political views and orientation, they decided they didn't want this coordination agreement, that it would harm them politically."
Growing internal dissent
On May 22, the day of the attack in the Belgorod region, blue-white-blue balloons were released over Moscow, and tags with the letter "L" - standing for "For Freedom"- were seen in Russia. A sign that the two armed groups are not alone in their disapproval of Vladimir Putin's policies.
However, for opposition leader Ilia Ponomarev, it is difficult to count the exact number of resistance fighters in the country: "Based on my statistics, my current estimate is between 1,000 and 1,100 supporters. Three months ago, we were recording an average of one attack a day [attacks on railway signal stations, burning of administrative buildings, etc., editor's note]. Today, the figure is rising. For example, the day before yesterday there were six attacks, and four yesterday."
"We are working on developing the resistance movement to carry out effective operations inside Russia by training professionals in resistance groups," adds Anastasiia Sergeeva of the Civic Council.

I don't know much about online selling but want to do some investment and start a business in this sector. I have a 400 sq yard plot near Saharanpur, which is 132 km from Chandigarh 2.5 to 3hrs travel time full highway and 200km from Delhi 3 to 4 hrs. On highway Dehradun is also close by . So thinking of a logistic hub for nearby cities like Chandigarh or 2nd option opening my own seller account and start supplying in Chandigarh so want to know should i start from that plot where i have plenty of space and no money is to be spent on rental or should i buy a rented showroom in chandigarh i live in chandigarh but no property is owned here is this a good approach for online selling or if any one can guide me how to use these resources efficiently

I’m a full time paid firefighter-paramedic on a 24/48 schedule and currently halfway through my accounting program at WGU. I’ve hit a crossroads because when I started the program, remote work was more prevalent nationwide but that appears to be back tracking to a more hybrid/more in office setting in some fields with accounting being one of the main careers seeing this (I’m not currently working in finance so I can’t say with certainty, but just from reading and job searching it appears so). I chose finance cause I like trading stocks but nothing really piques my interest like medical and running into burning buildings, so I’m not looking for some mind blowing second career, I’m okay with boring as long as it is typically flexible.
The point of this post is to get some input on whether switching to cybersecurity or another IT major would help accomplish my current goal of having a flexible secondary career; for those not familiar with the fire schedule, we’re typically allotted enough time in our work life balance to manage two careers, businesses, etc. I’ve been a firefighteparamedic for 10 years and I make good money for my area so steady income/lower (not low) barrier of entry are more important over peak careeincome advancement for my secondary career.
I’ve done physically demanding side quest away from the station but after a couple close calls including somebody driving through our emergency scene and clipping my engine door as I was exiting, I realize maybe something that doesn’t require me to be as active physically is a good route to seek in case I get handicapped or just worn down, hence why I landed on accounting but circling back to my original dilemma, I need something that tends to allow for more flexibility in scheduling. I can technically work a 40+ hour work week at my second career but I need a field were upper management will tend to be more flexible with the right person.
Do you guys have any advice or are there any graduates who have made it into their respective fields and are surprised by the amount of positions with a flexible balance?
I’m currently looking at cybersecurity as I’ve always been a computer kid since the days my mom taught me how to fire up Lego Island on DOS when I was 6. I’ve just never delved into it formally despite being somewhat competent and tinkering with tech all my life.
The opposite side is continuing to finish my accounting degree at WGU but having the thought in the back of my mind that I’m not going to have the flexibility like I once perceived.

What tricks do you guys use to keep grasshoppers and locusts off your plants. I live in a rural setting so no matter how neat I keep my yard there's hundreds of acres of ag land around me.

I'm planning to re-do my control panel, 2 player stand-up cab. Does anyone know the official distance for Street Fighter 2 between the center of the joystick to the center of the first column of buttons? (Light Punch, or Light Kick) I've read a few posts stating 3" and 4", but I'm not sure if they're official or custom multi-game cabs. If it makes a difference, I'm thinking the regular 24" width cab.

What are some key questions to ask when finding a wholesale friendly title company? Keep getting cold feet on finding one

I've found that when I'm happy and full of energy, I stim a LOT MORE (hand flapping and bouncing on my feet my beloved) and I talk without thinking about what I'm going to say, without monitoring myself and I always think to myself later "damn, I let the mask slip a little too much". On a bad day where I'm overstimulated or depressed I tend to Not talk as much but I feel like that's considered more normal than my good days if that makes sense? I also really only stim when happy or stressed, like my bad days I don't even have the energy to do it. Was wondering if anyone else feels the same!!
