Kinda new to Reddit so I’m not sure if posting this right lmao. Im an aspiring filmmaker, all I’ve ever loved to do was make short films with my friends and talk about the art that inspires us, and Berserk is my favorite manga of all time. My ultimate dream in life that realistically will never happen but I like to imagine it would is that one day I could make a Berserk live action trilogy/quadrilogy- Berserk: The Golden Age, Berserk: The Tower of Conviction, Berserk: The Falcon of the Millenium Empire, Berserk: Fantasia(This one kinda depends on how the story goes from here.) They would all have to be extremely long to fit in their respective arcs, but I think they would work (think Lord of the Rings trilogy length). I’ve always defended the idea in the sense that I think the original Berserk anime is about as perfect a Berserk anime as you could hope for. However doing a live action interpretation of the series would be honoring its legacy while revitalizing it and introducing it to a new medium. Some of those panels translated into live action would be SO cool to see, I feel like. The action/battle scenes would be very exciting as well. Again, think Lord of the Rings battles except more brutal and focused more on individual characters. And especially as Berserk is such a character focused story seeing real actors portray these iconic characters would be pretty neat and emotional in the right moments. Back in 2020, mid pandemic, my husband and I drove through Lexington on the way to South Carolina. We stopped and got curbside from a burgesandwich place right downtown, on a one way street ( I remember because I was stressed stopping for curbside). I'm having trouble finding that restaurant again--we're driving through next week an I'd like to stop there again. They had a substanial menu with lots of sandwichs named after states and places and fun burgers with interesting toppings--my husband had one with onion rings on it. Any idea where this is? I fear it may have closed due to COVID.

I'm worried if I'm going to get banned, I use greenluma for offline games without problems, but I avoid games like Elden Ring because of easy anticheat... I don't know what protection SF6 uses and if I'll get caught with GL2023

After hearing people defend Diablo 4 for its micro-transactions on top of it's 70 dollar price tag for an always online game, I think of how truly great Fromsoft is. They make games not only with extremely high quality but true honor. What non-console exclusive AAA game can even compare? This is a multi-platform behemoth of a game that actually respects the playebuyer.
No disrespect to Diablo fans but anyone could tell you that these games are at least a little manipulative, Elden Ring and Fromsoft continue to be a breath of fresh air

How do i handle this? I (24m) have been dating my (30f) for six months, we have known each other for awhile and we got really close. well she ended up spending pretty much everyday at my place so eventually we said screw it, lets move in together, and save money. well what i didnt know was she had a painkiller addiction. and when we had talked about it, she got very very made and said i was making things up and assuming. but it was pretty obvious. she was nodding off on my couch and even when i would be driving sometimes i would look over and she would begin to nod off. so after arguing about it we finally calmed down and decided we would help her get through this. well one day she brought up the idea of marriage, and i said “well one day i might, if we were able to beat her painkiller addiction”. the next day she came home and told me, “i told my aunt we were getting married and she was sooooo happy” immediately i was shocked. i never said we were getting married, i never even bought, OR gave her a ring on one knee. remember this for later. about two months later we went on a trip to florida, she has a decent amount of family there and i have never been there. well when we were on our way to the airport she got pulled over, i guess her tags were expired, oh and she has a warrant out for her arrest. she got very lucky, we were a county over, so the officers couldnt really do anything about it. i had no clue she had a warrant. and her mother, who we flew down with was not happy. so finally we got there it was great up until we went to her aunt and uncles house. we walked in, and there are decorations everywhere, theres a huge stack of presents, all of this food, and on the back wall was a huge banner that said “congratulations to the bride to be”. every part of me just froze. her mom noticed i froze but no one else did because they were focusing on my girlfriend. her mom said, “dont worry. i was nervous too.” it was like something else took over and i quietly and calmly said, “we arent getting married, i never proposed, what is happening.” all her mom said was “dont say a word, and try to have fun” i spent the rest of that vacation having to lie and make things up because i didnt want to embarrass everyone or piss anyone off. and she spent the rest of the vacation withdrawing horribly, couldnt eat or drink anything. only slept and sweat it out. her family began to catch on that something wasnt right. it put me in a position where i just felt like pure shit. that trip was back in early may of this year. skip forward to two weeks ago. she was doing significantly better. which was good for her. i was proud. but for me i was suffering greatly, my wants and needs were put on the back burner while her addiction was the main problem. i stopped feeling like myself, we hadnt had sex in almost 4 months, she was mean with me the whole time, which i understood as the addiction talking. i slipped into a depression. she never could pay rent, would stop working for a week, and i had to keep us fed and keep a roof over our head. i was living paycheck to paycheck, skip a meal here and there, while she was spending 80 dollars a day on painkillers on average. but her addiction got better and she started to feel better. her personality changed, and she started to ask me, “are you okay?” three to four times a day everyday, which at first didnt bother me. but then i started to notice she was spending a lot of time on her phone and if i ever walked past she would swipe out of whatever she was doing, and started to hide her phone screen. last night she passed out with her phone unlocked, and when we first started dating she said, “you can look through my phone anytime.” and i never wanted to, but for some reason something inside of me was telling me i had to look. and i did, what i found killed a part of me. she made plans with a guy who apparently lives 3 minutes away, to come over today at one pm, (i work from 5:30 am to around 4 pm every week day) and for them to hang out, upon scrolling up in the conversation, she has been talking to him as longer than we have been dating. and in the texts, hes constantly calling her things like, sweetie, cutie, sweet heart, beautiful, etc. etc. how do i handle this? only my name is on the lease, and for those curious on laws, we live in wisconsin.

Hello, friends - I recently lost my 4 month old baby boy, and in working through my grief I’ve decided I might like to get a tattoo. I would like something small and simple on the inside of my wrist (I think) - I don’t have any idea about how tattoo styles work or even what to ask for (I have his hand and foot prints and would like to incorporate them with his name). So, I took an attempt to find out more information about the interpretation of Muhammad Asad on the verse of awrah. As this mentions quotations from early scholars about dependence on social views women's veil, which is one of our core point of contradiction with the conservative community.
I will start off by the footnote Asad has put:

My interpolation of the word "decently" reflects the interpretation of the phrase illa ma zahara minha by several of the earliest Islamic scholars, and particularly by Al-Qiffal (quoted by Razi), as "that which a human being may openly show in accordance with prevailing custom (al-'adah al-jariyah)". Although the traditional exponents of Islamic Law have for centuries been inclined to restrict the definition of "what may [decently] be apparent" to a woman's face, hands and feet--and sometimes even less than that--we may safely assume that the meaning of illa ma zahara minha is much wider, and that the deliberate vagueness of this phrase is meant to allow for all the time-bound changes that are necessary for man's moral and social growth. The pivotal clause in the above injunction is the demand, addressed in identical terms to men as well as to women, to "lower their gaze and be mindful of their chastity": and this determines the extent of what, at any given time, may legitimately--i.e., in consonance with the Qur'anic principles of social morality--be considered "decent" or "indecent" in a person's outward appearance

Here is what Al Razi said about what is permissible to show:

Al-Qaffal said the meaning of the verse is whatever a person reveals in his usual habits and tasks, and that is the face and palms for the women, and for the men the face, hands and feet. so the men and women were ordered to cover what necessity does not lead to revealing it and were given permission to reveal what they used to reveal out of necessity since the laws of Islam are easy. And since the appearance of the face and hands is a necessity for women no wonder the scholars agreed that they are not awrah.

However, he later says,

It is permissible to look at the adornment of her face, such as tattoos and dimples, and the adornment of her body, such as pigments, rings, and clothes. The reason for the permissibility of looking at her is that it is embarrassing because the woman must handle things with her hands and the need to uncover her face in testimony, trial and marriage.

These are not translated by me. First one is from another reddit post, second one is by google. The phrase he used which is actually mentioned by Asad is this: العادة الجارية

So, as a phrase it may mean - (body parts) that are taken to be normal currently, ongoing tradition. Asad has put it as "prevailing custom" which definitely matches up.
Al Razi actually mentions two points to determine what can be shown. First he quotes Al Qiffal, whatever a person reveals according to what is taken to be usual currently. Then, Al razi himself mentions whatever is needed to reveal considering necessity. It's important to note that Al Qiffal didn't bring the topic of necessity. He only talked about the norm of that time.
Now, about the part Al Razi wrote later, it sounds like he was not taking it that way. Once again, it's important to note, he actually wrote why other scholars allowed the face and hands to be shown. He didn't contradict the topic of prevailing custom.
Echoing his reasoning, If it's hard to work(not impossible) with hands covered, it can be said that working with a head covering is also hard(not impossible). Thus, if someone finds it difficult, she can easily take it off.
Thus, I think, both Al Qiffal and Al Razi had an opinion that aligns with our current view on Hijab.
Still one more topic to go, Asad mentioned there are more early scholars with this view. I have no information on them. So, that can be another research topic.

Love the game, but it's annoying how it's designed as open world and you only get the mount after you finish the campaign.
The distances are too big to go everywhere on foot. Imagine if you'd only get Torrent in Elden Ring after you beat the final boss.

They are:
History, especially the 19th-20th century but with more broad and general knowedge in other time periods. I'm not an expert or anything but I am pretty passionate about it and tend to read/listen about one event or the other on a pretty regular basis.
Literature, especially old novels. I recently read Demian (my all time favourite book), Day of the Oprichnik, Heart of Darkness, the Perfume and Little Prince. Currently started reading Blood Meridian. Some of my other favourite works would include: "The Picture of Dorian Gray", "Faust part I" (need to get to part II) and "No Longer Human". I also like to write short stories and book reviews. I'd also really like to read the same book with someone and discuss it. For reference my next book will probably be Oliver Twist
Languages. I know three, with one being a bit rusty. I'm currently working to scrape off the rust and then when I'm finished with that will begin to learn a fourth language. It's fun to go through different works in multiple languages. For example, I read the aforementioned Faust part I in all three.
Games. I recently played Cyberpunk 2077. Now that the dust has settled and the bugs mostly removed...It's not that bad! The main questline at least, Fallout 76 (Very average, I'm dissapointed with what they made the "RPG" system) and will try out Deus Ex Manking Divided again ( Got inspired since it's somewhat similar to Cyberpunk). I was waiting to play Elden Ring but it ended being too stressful for me. Go here and get beaten up go there and get beaten up, repeat...Besides that I'm a big fan of Paradox strategy games...like EU IV and HoI IV (also thinking of making my own project for HoI IV). I am definitely looking forward to try out Victoria III, after they add more content to it. I also got Modern Warfare 2, since the first MW had great multiplayer gameplay.
Anime and Manga. In recent times my interest has waned but I still watch the occasional series here and there. Like Cyberpunk Edgerunners (Which I found to be rather mediocre) and the very good new season of Bleach. Some other favourites include: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note, Fate;Zero, Psycho Pass , Higurashi (season 2 is a bit weak but the first one is a masterpiece of horror), Code Geass, Attack on Titan and others. My favourite Manga is Berserk...I hope it gets a good ending..the first couple of new chapters were...a bit rough but the new author seems to have got his footing.
Anyway, that should be enough information to give you a good picture... Before I go, I would like to ask for you to include the title of the last book you read in your reply. A small request, I feel. I'll be ignoring those that don't.

My current project is to design some systems that allow for a more comprehensive "West Marches" type of play, with specific elements to flesh out the ideas around the town/home base in the wilderness.
I really like the Fellowship Phase concept from the One Ring where there is a set of mechanics outside of adventuring are in place to allow people to build up a town, establish relationships and even have a life/profession in the town.
I'm also looking for concepts on how to build a town out, etc. Are there any other sort of "marco" rpg elements people might think are interesting here or that I should possibly explore?
