2023.06.02 16:32 OfficialOverlord Squeaky suspension

Just got back from a week in Death Valley. Splashed through some salty water. Suspension now squeaks and creaks with any articulation. I sprayed it all off with a pressure washer and it’s quieter now, but still embarrassingly loud. How do I fix this? Spray every moving component with silicon grease?

2023.06.02 16:10 chiaman117 Will sanding be ok over sandblasting?

I've got a large railing to powder coat but it won't fit in my blast cabinet. Can I just sand it and coat it or will it not adhere right? I have a wet blast attachment for my pressure washer but I don't want to deal with the flash rusting.

2023.06.02 15:23 TheRittsShow Mini split heat pump cleaning

I think I've reached my limit on paying $300 for these guys to come in for 30 mins and clean my two head units each year.
Can any suggest a DIY setup for doing this myself?
Have looked at the bibs that go around the unit on Amazon, but I'm wondering if a hand pump sprayer would be good enough to do the job, or would the portable low power pressure washer be the way to go
Also, if you have any cleaning product recommendations, please feel free to post
Thanks a lot!
Just keep in mind when recommending products...Amazon Canada is limited compared to the US version.

Introduction:

Keeping Your Roof in Tip-Top Shape

Do you ever think about your roof? It's up there, protecting your home day in and day out, yet it often goes unnoticed and unappreciated. Well, it's time to change that! In this article, we'll dive into the benefits of regularly cleaning and maintaining your roof, and how South East Roof Repairs can help you keep your roof in tip-top shape. So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and let's explore the world above your head!

Aesthetic Appeal: Enhancing the Beauty of Your Home

Imagine driving up to a house with a dilapidated, moss-covered roof. Not the most inviting sight, is it? Cleaning and maintaining your roof not only keeps it in good condition but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of your entire home. A clean roof with no debris, moss, or algae instantly gives your house a fresh, well-maintained look. It's like a makeover for your home's curb appeal!

Longevity: Extending the Lifespan of Your Roof

Your roof is a significant investment, and you want it to last as long as possible. Regular cleaning and maintenance play a crucial role in extending the lifespan of your roof. When you remove debris, leaves, and branches, you prevent the accumulation of moisture that can lead to rotting or deterioration of your roof's materials. By taking care of your roof, you're essentially adding years to its life and saving money in the long run.

Energy Efficiency: Lowering Your Utility Bills

Did you know that a dirty roof can affect the energy efficiency of your home? When dirt, algae, or moss cover your roof, it can trap heat, making your home hotter during the summer months. This can result in increased energy consumption and higher cooling bills. By regularly cleaning your roof, you allow it to reflect sunlight instead of absorbing it, which helps keep your home cooler and reduces the strain on your air conditioning system. A cleaner roof means lower utility bills and a more comfortable living environment.

Preventing Damage: Keeping the Elements at Bay

Your roof acts as a shield against the elements, protecting your home from rain, wind, and sun. However, if your roof is neglected and not properly maintained, it can develop cracks, leaks, or weak spots, leaving your home vulnerable to water damage. Regular cleaning and maintenance help identify and address any issues before they become major problems. By proactively taking care of your roof, you're safeguarding your home from costly repairs caused by water infiltration.

South East Roof Repairs provides thorough roof inspections, identifying any damage, leaks, or weak spots. They offer prompt repairs to ensure that your roof remains in excellent condition. By addressing problems early on, you can prevent further damage and costly repairs down the line.

Gutter Cleaning: Keeping Water Flowing Smoothly

Clogged gutters can lead to water buildup, which can damage your roof, walls, and foundation. South East Roof Repairs offers professional gutter cleaning services, removing leaves, debris, and other blockages that can hinder the flow of water. By keeping your gutters clean, you prevent water from backing up and causing potential damage to your home.

Roof Coating: Adding an Extra Layer of Protection

South East Roof Repairs also provides roof coating services to add an extra layer of protection to your roof. Roof coatings act as a barrier against UV rays, moisture, and other harmful elements, extending the life of your roof. They can also improve energy efficiency by reflecting sunlight and reducing heat absorption. With a roof coating from South East Roof Repairs, you can enhance your roof's durability and save on energy costs.

Maintenance Tips: DIY Steps for Roof Care

While South East Roof Repairs provides professional services, there are also steps you can take to maintain your roof between their visits. Here are some simple maintenance tips:

Regular Cleaning: Clearing Debris and Keeping it Clean

Make it a habit to clear any debris that accumulates on your roof, such as leaves, branches, and dirt. You can use a soft-bristle broom or a leaf blower to gently remove the debris. Avoid using a pressure washer, as it can damage the roofing materials. Regular cleaning helps prevent the buildup of moisture and keeps your roof looking tidy.

Inspect for Damage: Keeping an Eye Out for Issues

Take the time to inspect your roof for any signs of damage, such as missing shingles, cracked tiles, or loose flashing. Look for any areas where water might be pooling or signs of leaks inside your home. If you notice any problems, it's best to call in the professionals at South East Roof Repairs to assess and fix them.

Trim Surrounding Trees: Preventing Potential Hazards

Overhanging tree branches can pose a risk to your roof, especially during storms. Trim any branches that are in close proximity to your roof to prevent them from scraping against the surface or causing damage during high winds. Keeping trees trimmed also reduces the amount of debris that falls onto your roof.

Clean Gutters: Ensuring Proper Water Flow

Regularly clean your gutters to ensure that water can flow freely and avoid backups that can lead to roof and foundation damage. Use a ladder to access your gutters and remove any leaves, twigs, and debris. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, you can rely on the expertise of South East Roof Repairs to take care of it for you.

Final Thoughts: A Healthy Roof, A Happy Home

Your roof plays a vital role in protecting your home and everything inside it. By investing in regular cleaning and maintenance, you're not only improving the appearance of your house but also prolonging the lifespan of your roof and preventing costly repairs. 2023.06.02 08:15 greentechproperty The Complete Guide To House Cleaning In Nanaimo: Revive The Exterior Of Your Home

The exterior of your house needs to be maintained just as much as the interior. It not only improves the property's curb appeal overall but also guards against any harm. To keep the exterior of your property in Nanaimo clean, maintained, and safeguarded, there are several expert services accessible. These services, which range from pressure washing to lawn care, roof and gutter cleaning and best concrete driveway sealer, can significantly improve the aesthetic and longevity of your property.
What Does a Concrete Driveway Sealer Do?
Exterior House Cleaning
Your home's exterior can look much better if you wash it frequently. The surfaces can become dirty, polluted, and weathered over time, giving them a worn-out appearance. Exterior house washing services in Nanaimo employ specialized methods and cleaning supplies to bring back your home's exterior's luster and vitality. This helps maintain the integrity of the structural components and improves curb appeal.
Lawn Maintenance
The use of high-pressure cleaning equipment is the most effective solution to these problems. High-pressure washers employ a narrow stream of hot or cold water running at a high rate of speed. Pressure washing may be viewed by many as an optional task. Pressure washing Nanaimo is a great way to remove old, flaking product layers that may later cause problems for new applications, in addition to ensuring that the surface is clean.
A better way for you and your family to unwind after a long day at work or school should exist. A well-kept lawn maintenance Nanaimo will give your family access to a usable outdoor area where you may play and relax. It has been demonstrated that having a living space outside can enhance a family's quality of life by lowering stress, strengthening work/life balance, and increasing energy.

Roof And Gutter Cleaning

Your home's defense against water damage includes your roof and gutters. The accumulation of leaves, debris, moss, and algae in the gutters and on the roof over time can result in problems including leaks and water infiltration. Professional roof and gutter cleaning in Nanaimo can eliminate these impurities in a secure and efficient manner, assuring the best performance and durability of your roofing system. Regular upkeep and cleaning can help increase the life of your roof and avert more expensive future repairs.
Best concrete driveway sealers operate as a barrier between exterior elements like snow, ice, oil, and grime and things like concrete driveways. Because they believe that concrete driveways don't need care, many people choose not to apply concrete sealer. However, in order to preserve quality and avoid water retention, concrete should ideally be sealed no less than every three years.Your driveway is always being abused by traffic, the elements, and other chemicals like oil and grease. Applying a top-notch sealer to your concrete driveway is advised to protect it and increase its lifespan.

Wrap Up!

For home owners who wish to preserve the appeal, usefulness, and value of their property, investing in the best concrete driveway sealer in Nanaimo is a wise move. These services offer thorough care for various outside features of your property, whether it be pressure washing, exterior house washing, grass upkeep, roof and gutter cleaning or concrete driveway sealing. A well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing home is something you can enjoy for years to come if you rely on competent specialists to complete the task quickly and effectively. for more information visit us - https://greentechpropertycarevi.com/

2023.06.02 08:12 ImAlwaysDoing88MPH My wall setup

My wall setup
Finally finished the wall setup in my attached garage. Plumbed with 3/4" PEX. Thought about ripping the drywall out and running the PEX line through the walls. Decided against that as it would have added a ton of work and I liked the idea of having a sheet mounted on the wall and trimmed out. Thought about aluminum hard line like I see others use but I couldn't justify the cost to get it here in Canada. Used 5/8 laminate and trimmed it with some 1/2 anodized aluminum. Next up is a shelf for the wall mount pressure washer. For now, I'll just use my gas unit.
Curious to get some feedback from the community. What would you change or add?
Also, mind the drywall patching. Hoping to finish painting the walls this weekend.
Added picture of my 1972 for bonus points.

2023.06.02 05:25 Hikariyang ILPT Request: how to discourage new tenants from snooping and show the landlord our displeasure.

So my 3 roomates and i are going to be moving into a house one of the roomates bought by the end of the month.
Of course our landlord is already looking for new tenants to lease to, and he has a showing for the house this weekend. This normally wouldnt be a problem, but we dont really have a place to stash valuables (monetary value and rarity) until we get possession of the new house on the 8th.
Due to previous issues, we arent exactly comfortable with the idea of a landlord we barely know and complete strangers walking around our stuff unattended. We've asked the landlord if maybe one of us could stay behind during the showing, or wait on actually showing the place in person until after we get possession. He has not said yes or no on either, but he is very strongly hinting that he doesnt want us there at all.
Im looking for some easy-ish to enact plan that we can set in motion if he tells us to leave. Something that could discourage the new renters from sticking noses and fingers where they dont belong, and something as a slight F you to the landlord for not being understanding.
Ive been playing around with the idea of leaving "inappropriate" items in and around things i dont want messed with and leaving notes about how the basement tiles are asbestos and the basement floods a bit if you use any water while the washer is running. If you all can think of anything better it would be much appreciated!
Edit: For anyone wondering why i care so much, we own a lot of fun to look at/touch/play with items plus small rodents and a cat. All it takes is for some handsy, bored, kid who hasn't been taught not to touch things that aren't theirs and some uncaring/unobservant parents for things to end up missing, broken, or misplaced. Or in the rodents case, killed by the cat if let out.
Am i paranoid? Probably. But this is a big occasion for my roomates since we are going to be moving into their first home as owners soon and id hate to see it spoiled with something going wrong before we move out of the rental.

2023.06.02 03:15 Eldie1 (Nissan Tech?) No Brake Lights

I have a 2018 Nissan Versa sedan. My brake lights were working fine. I got pulled over by a Louisiana State Trooper yesterday and he told me, "You've got zero brake lights." Luckily, I didn't get a ticket or in an accident!
I checked all of the fuses in the power center (fuse box) in the side of the driver's side dashboard and under the hood in the engine compartment. I use the ATM-LP Low Profile Mini Fuses. They have the little pin hole on both sides, where I put my pointy multimeter leads in to check for continuity. All fuses are good!
I had to pull out my whole taillight fixture, and then remove 4 screws to get to the bulbs to check them - which seemed like a pain in the butt. The third brake light seemed so much easier to check just inside and up-under the back dash. Just a quick little twist and I was able to tell that the bulb is still good. I thought maybe it might be something like old Christmas tree lights - if one goes out, none of them work... So I had to do the pain in the butt taillight removal. The driver's side brake light bulb is good also.
That must mean that the brake light switch is bad. Am I right? What else could it be??? I want to test the switch, but it seems to be more of a pain in the butt to get to than the side brake light bulbs. I'm sure I can test it in the trunk...
Here's why, and maybe how I can test it...
Although it's not advised to tow with a versa, I do have a five-speed manual transmission... I found a forum with people who have verses with manual transmissions that said they have no problem towing small loads. It all started with just a little cargo carrier for my pressure washer - where I didn't need blinkers and brake lights. I upgraded to a small utility trailer where I needed brake lights and blinkers. I tied in to my tail lights with the four wire flat harness for the trailer. Please don't go thinking that I shorted something out or anything like that!!! LOL I tied in the four wire flat back in 2020 and my brakes have been working for the past 3 years. My brakes just went out recently. Being that I have tapped wires in the trunk, I have access to the different wires. Please help me with the testing...
The 2018 Nissan versa has a negative circuit system, am I right? All electronics have power going to them all the time, and all switches switched the ground wire, is that right? When I open my car door, the little jam switch connects to ground wires to make the light come on, am I right?
Can I put my multimeter on the continuity setting, and put one of the leads to the chassis, and then put the other lead to one of the wires in my tail light (the wire for the break light). If I do this, I should not have continuity. And when I press the brake pedal down, I should all of a sudden hear the beep for continuity, am I right?
Or is it backwards? Is there continuity between the chassis and the brake light wire without the brake pedal being pressed, and then when I press the brake pedal does it lose continuity?
I'm an electrician by trade - a high voltage electrician. I have no idea about this low voltage DC situation here... I'm lying! I'm a little familiar with it - but not much! If I can check my brake pedal brake light switch, with my multimeter on a continuity setting, in the trunk with the exposed wires connected to my trailer's 4-flat harness... Which wire is for the brake lights? I believe the blue wire is for the tail lights. So it would either be green, yellow or red (or is there another one in there that I'm not aware of? LOL). For some reason, I'm thinking the brake light is the yellow wire...
I see two twisted wires coming out of the brake pedal brake light switch up under the dashboard at the top of the brake pedal... The two twisted wires are like an aqua and green... I really can't get to them and don't know where they go to to test them for voltage. Please don't make me crawl up under the dashboard and try to fight that brake pedal, in that very small area!!! There's got to be a way to check the brake pedal brake lights switch in the trunk by the tail light where my taps are made - either with the DC voltage setting, or with the continuity setting on my multimeter.
A Nissan tech should know which color wire goes through the brake lights, am I right? Is it the yellow one? Or could it be the green one? Red? Lol Do all manufacturers of automobiles, such as Ford, Dodge, Chevy, Toyota, etc etc etc use the same color wires for tail lights, flashes / blinkers, brakes, etc etc etc? Or is it different from manufacturer to manufacturer? Are all brake light wires yellow? Are they all green? Or do they all differ depending on the manufacturer?
In summary, I need to know how to test the brake pedal brake light switch in the trunk at the taps with either DC voltage or continuity and which color wire should I use when I test? Thanks a million in advance!!!

2023.06.02 02:35 Alternativeself0 Theory of what can happen in the passage of time between S5 and S6

– Hector is still drinking at Castillo Escondido when the "dangerous man", the one Miguel first thought was his father, enters the place. The man tells Hector about Miguel and that he didn't think he would take the news so well that he was a father. Hector doesn't understand what the man is talking about and says that Miguel is not his son then he hears that Miguel was looking for his father Hector and said he was the son of a certain Carmen Díaz from Guayaquil. Hector is upset and goes to his house to see if Miguel was still there. He enters the room where the boy stayed and sees his backpack on top of the bed. Hector opens it and finds the road ticket that shows Miguel came from the San Fernando Valley and some clothes. He searches Miguel Díaz from the San Fernando Valley on Facebook to see photos of him with Carmen, Rosa and Johnny. His anger turns to euphoria when he learns that Miguel is a karate champion and that he has overcome a paralysis and starts planning to reunite with his son motivated by the desire to make him famous and be his successor in the fighting business.
– Hector pays bribes so that corrupt cops won't interfere with his shady dealings. The police ask for more money and the moment comes when payment becomes impossible and he starts to be threatened. Hector decides to run away. He gives money to Maria so that she can go away with her son. Hector flees to Los Angeles. Arriving in the city, he comes into contact with people linked to the underworld of fights to have somewhere to hide. He already knows some details of the Díaz's life, such as Carmen's pregnancy and that Miguel is dating the daughter of a successful businessman. He also knows that the Cobra Kai dojo that Miguel was champion for was closed after a scandal of corruption and violence. Hector intends will approach Miguel without revealing that he already knows the whole truth.
– Silver is sued for the attack on Stingray and for corrupting the refereeing and his own students. To mitigate the penalty, he reveals that he has leukemia and shows tests that are legitimate.
– Johnny accuses Silver of ordering him to be beaten to death. The complaint is not accepted and the blame lies entirely with Kim Da-Eun's senseis who are arrested. Silver hires lawyers to defend them and lies that Johnny knew about from him illness because they saw each other at the hospital and Carmen works in the radiotherapy space and that Johnny wanted to take advantage of the moment when he was weakened to attack him. Johnny is furious and attacks Silver in front of the authorities, which makes his situation worse with the justice system.
– Johnny and Chozen are sued by Sllver for trespassing and damaging his private property. He still accuses Daniel of inciting teenagers to invade his dojo, but the complaint is not accepted.
– Silver doesn't sue Mike Barnes and the senseis will question Mike about it. Barnes confesses that the mansion break-in was a trap by Silver that he was forced into in order to get his furniture store back. Mike says he regretted it when he saw that Johnny was about to be killed. Everyone gets mad but forgives Mike understanding he was under pressure.
– Silver is tried and his sentence is converted to house arrest due to his health. He secludes himself on his private island. Apparently with no intention of continuing to run a karate dojo.
– Johnny and Chozen are ordered to pay a fine. Chozen is able to pay but Johnny is not and he is detained. Daniel and Chozen later post Johnny's bail.
– Kim Da-Eun once again criticizes Silver for putting their rivalries above their goals and Silver gets angry and leaves her. She also cannot leave the country and tries to survive as a personal trainer even without authorization to practice the profession.
– As Silver's plan was thwarted, Miyagi-Do's popularity increased and the Crane Kick began to be imitated again. Ecstatic, Daniel lays out a marketing plan for his dojo and is indifferent to the idea of a joint dojo with Eagle Fang. For him that was the right moment to make the lessons and name of Mr. Miyagi known to everyone.
– Carmen takes a exam clinical that ends up detecting another baby. She is expecting twins, a boy and a girl. The names chosen for the children are Santiago, in honor of Santiago de Guayaquil, Díaz family's hometown, and Laura, the name of Johnny's mother.
– Eagle Fang is far from having the same credibility as Miyagi-Do and Johnny thinks about improving the structure of the place. But he needs the money to pay for the arrival of his babies. So he goes back to work in construction and tries to adjust the schedules as sensei and uber.
– Miguel plans to save for college and gets a temporary job selling ice cream at a kiosk. He also takes a job in construction as Johnny's helper.
– Robby and Shannon travel to Bainbridge Island to spend the rest of the summer at her parents' house.
– Samantha spends more time at LaRusso Auto as an internship for her future as a dealership manager.
– An attack on a US Army military convoy kills soldiers. Mr. Payne is hit.
– Shawn finally leaves juvie and struggles to get a job. He goes back to being the man of the house.
– The All Valley commission assesses Tory's title status and concludes that she was not at fault in Silver's corruption and therefore her title should be retained. Daniel and Samantha protest, the claim that the court found Silver guilty. Tory hands Sam the trophy and leaves the room. Samantha is declared champion.
– Tory is looking for a job but her face is famous as a troublemaker and even a crook and she is not hired.
– To make matters worse, your aunt Kandace shows up to say she's going to live with her.
– The LaRusso family and Chozen are going to relax and have fun at the Orlando parks.
– The rules of Sekai Taikai become known. There is a limited number of representatives from each dojo per category. Competitors with similar profiles must fight each other to decide who should be the titular dojo representative.
– Eli was excited to be Miyagi-Do's representative but Robby's presence and Daniel's predilection for his oldest student annoy him. Eli has yet to decide between karate and college.
– Kreese has been hiding the whole time in the space where his original Cobra Kai functioned. Patiently, he waits for his name to stop appearing in the news to come out of the woodwork.
– Sid dies of natural causes at his Encino mansion. All of his estate goes towards payment of debts he left.
– Aware of Miyagi-Do's fame and interested in learning more about Johnny and his dojo, the leader of the most influential dojo in Sekai Taikai opens a betting shop in the Valley where mixed martial arts are practiced. The identity of the owner and his relationship with Sekai Taikai are kept confidential. Korea's envoy to take care of business in the Valley is their young champion from senior Sekai Taikai, who is also your son.
– It is in this environment of clandestine fights that Hector will be able to reconnect with Miguel.

2023.06.02 02:00 Stock_Imagination209 Simpson 3600psi stock downstream

Can I add a metering valve to my Simpson 3600psi 2.5gpm pressure washer? It comes with a downstreamer, but it's ratio is 13:1 and I am hoping to strengthen its draw strength. Can I do this from the machine? Or will I need to purchase a metering valve. If so how is it installed?
