Uma vida inteira assistindo futebol e ouvindo falar sobre a derrota brasileira em 50 e nunca tinha lido/ouvido a respeito de alguns detalhes daquela copa. Como imagino que muitos outros aqui também nunca se aprofundaram no assunto, segue um breve resumo de algumas curiosidades que me chamaram atenção:
Era a primeira Copa depois da Segunda Guerra (desde a Copa de 1938), não tinha muita vibe pra realização e o Brasil acabou pegando a sede. Pelas distâncias de viagens, situação financeira mundial, etc... muitos países desistiram. A Copa teria 16 seleções, mas Escócia, Turquia e Índia desistiram. Chamaram França, Portugal e Irlanda (que não tinham classificado). Portugal e Irlanda não aceitaram. A França aceitou e a Índia meio que voltou atrás - só que não: no fim as duas desistiram.
Então a Copa teria apenas 13 seleções. Só que a merda é que não ajustaram os grupos ao número de seleções. No fim o Grupo 1 (do Brasil) teve 4 times, Grupo 2 também (4 times), mas o Grupo 3 teve apenas 3 times e o Grupo 4, sim, apenas 2 times (Uruguai e Bolívia).
Pelas regras do torneio a segunda fase seria um quadrangular final (não havia mata-mata), ou seja, apenas o primeiro de cada grupo classificava. Assim, Uruguai e Bolívia fizeram jogo único para ir as finais (Uruguai meteu 8-0).
Perdoem minha ignorância, mas eu não sabia que o fatídico Maracanazo era, não uma final (apesar de ser, na prática), mas sim a última rodada do quadrangular final. O Brasil vinha de nada menos que um 7-1 na Suécia e 6-1 na Espanha, sobrando. Já o Uruguai tinha empatado com a Espanha (2-2) e vencido a Suécia por 3-2. Ou seja, o Brasil seria campeão com um simples EMPATE!
O clima de já ganhou, motivado pelo desempenho excelente do Brasil até então, e a vantagem na tabela são os grandes fatores na criação dessa reviravolta mítica, não só o fato do Brasil jogar em casa para 200 mil pessoas, como eu imaginava até então. Hoje, eu vejo como uma derrota pior do que o 7-1 em 2014.
Enfim, não quero me estender demais aqui, mas ainda existem outras centenas de histórias/lendas sobre 50 (como culpar a camisa branca pelo resultado e reformular o uniforme da Seleção; ou culpar o técnico Flávio Costa, que teria feito o time assistir missa por 2 horas, em pé, no dia do jogo; ou sobre suicídios após a derrota; ou sobre radialistas se aposentando de desgosto; etc...).
Espero que alguém tenha aprendido algo novo com esta mini dissertação!

Love Ascension-Riser 31 so far and how it mixes up the objectives we've seen to date - and it gave me ideas to expand on an old concept I had where our Rejects are providing support to one of those 'elite' NPC squadrons we've seen before (i.e. at the end of the Consignment Yard or Enclavum Baross, or even the squad from the splash screen) who are taking on a threat that our superiors on the Mourningstar believe to be beyond our capabilities. As the group proceeds through the mission, (scripted) fights between the elite squadron and all manner of heretical horrors happen on the other side of windows, through damaged walls we can't fit past, etc.
Throughout the mission, as we proceed, we'd be overhearing snippets of comms chatter from the elite squadron as they communicate with one another during their own efforts, giving us even more insight into the dangers they're facing.
There would also be mission-specific chatter from our own squadron, depending on the voice/personality chosen, ranging from cynical 'are we sure they're the ones doing the heavy lifting here?' to 'we must push forwards, they rely upon our support for their holy deeds!' etc.
Keeping with the usual trend of missions being split up into three 'sections' segmented off by those airlock-style doors, my vision for such a mission goes like this;
Section 1: Open The Way. The elite team is making their way through the complex, but there's heavy blast doors in their path and the door's mechanisms are several floors below in the maintenance area; where we are. After reaching the maintenance area, our team has to move power cells from their current locations to the highlighted junctions. There'd be 6 or so possible junctions spread around the room, and the target ones would be different each time (just to mix it up). Of course, while doing all this, we have to tangle with the heretics trying to stop us, and there's a couple of doors they need to get through so we need to then move the cells to different junctions for the next one (or two). The elite team have no alternative means of exit and enemies are chasing them, so the longer we dawdle over getting the next door open, the more trouble it sounds like they're facing over comms.
Section 2: Fire Support. While the elite squadron is fighting their way through the main corridors, we're pushing through the back passages, clearing out the enemy within so they don't get overwhelmed. As the group progresses they need to lock/jam doors to prevent the hordes getting to the other squad and disable defenses that are harassing them, but there'd be visible outpourings of the bullshit they're fighting nearby - ex a section of wall suddenly denting outwards into our area with a loud slam as something (or someone) is thrown into it, fissures in the dividing walls spewing bursts of corruption that cause rapid corruption damage if you're standing too close as the elite squad can be seen fighting a Daemonhost (or several) through the crack, sections of the scenery collapsing and requiring a change of direction, etc.
Section 3: Unexpected Guest. Initially plays out as another 'get to the objective' section until the ceiling above collapses and a boss monstrosity is dumped on the group (could be a nurgle beast, chaos spawn etc but 'souped up' and more dangerous than it's randomly-spawning kindred or a new one altogether). It's already looking a bit beat up from the elite squad's ministrations, but it fell too far for them to follow it, so now it's on us to finish the job - a task our handler thinks is beyond us, but of course we (can) succeed because a mission where the only outcome is failure would be boring. We get the closest thing we've gotten to actual praise from our handler and/or the elite team, with hints that this might mean we're getting that much closer to earning our redemption for whatever our crimes (perceived or otherwise) were.

I’ve been working out consistently for about 3 years and Ive grown noticeable chest, shoulders, back.
But my arms especially my biceps don’t grow for shit. Tried every split, added an extra arm day but my biceps are literally the same size as when i started the gym. Maybe its because I almost never get a bicep pump from curls (dumbells, ez bar, whatever) However my forearms specifically brachialis is super pumped.
Anyone else experience this and how did they fix this? Its super annoying now having 13.5 arms with decent chest/back.

I am 32 year old female who is BRCa1 positive but otherwise active healthy, very active non smoker, very light drinker.
I had a preventive mastectomy with direct reconstruction exactly 6 weeks ago. Healing has gone super well. No complications and i feel really lucky.
But at around 4 weeks and continuing until today at 6 weeks I’ve noticed random things going on with my body and was wondering if its some like “post surgical” pendulum swing or “comedown” from whatever hormones or processes were going on in the initial healing phase.
Some symptoms I’ve noticed over the past two weeks - sleep disturbances (mostly trouble falling and staying asleep) - light headedness on standing (I’ve always had issues with low BP and low iron but more so of late) - flaky skin which has mostly resolved but still flaky /itchy scalp - along with scalp, probably have had some hair loss - really hard stools—probably going once every other day and stools are really hard. I had the initial constipation with the narcotics for the first couple days but after day 3 was just on Tylenol and in combo with coláce seemed to resolve the problem. But last two weeks have just been hard dry stools—I eat lots of veggies and fruits, drink tons of water and after week one of recovery was walking long distances (5-6 miles) and have recently started reincorporating running
Is this kind of thing common? I knowhair loss is common but other symptoms?

Good morning everyone! (31F) We’re getting ready to travel, which is pretty normal. We tend to split our time between our home and family in California. But these trips are so hard with HSP. Everything about travel is so overstimulating compared to my peaceful sanctuary of home. What are you best travel tips with HSP? How do you manage the stimuli while also being fully present with friends and family?
This trip will be 2 weeks if that makes any difference. It’ll be 20 hours on the road in 3 days before we land for the first week. That leg of the trip will be with my sister in law and all of the chaos of graduation week and lots of people around all the time. I think there’s going to be 11 of us in one house.
Week 2 is mentally and emotionally unsafe for me because we’ll be at my mom’s. My mom is the “highly logical” counterpart to my “highly sensitive”. It’s not a good mix and resulted in her being incredibly abusive mentally and emotionally. Nothing has changed since I was a teen.

I’m sure ever server here has had a table that doesn’t tip. It happens all the time, people are just shitty sometimes. Normally when this happens I just show my bartender and we talk shit and I let it go, last night was a little bit different.
At my small, local sports bar restaurant, we have a dude come in and do trivia on Thursdays. Usually, it’s a pretty busy shift, and our floor is small enough that we don’t do sections and there’s only ever one or two servers on the floor and a bartender. That being said, when we’re busy, I’ll have maybe up to 10-15 tables at once, a good chunk of them parties of 4-8. Pretty good money, right?
The night started out normal, I had 3 of my regular tables already ready, ordered and eating, and this lady comes in last minute, not even a call ahead, asking if we can take maybe 15-20 people for a graduation party dinner (ended up being closer to 30 people). The restaurant has 3 rooms, our regular floor, a larger event space, and a small event space in between. Normally our trivia shifts are really busy, but with graduations and summer starting they’ve been a little slower, so we said yes. We gave them the smaller event space, and my bartender told me to take care of them. All fine right? Should be good money, and it was except for one person.
This lady sat in the back and said she was going to pay for some other people, so after they ate, she came up to me and told me every person she was paying for AND what they ate. I gave her the bill, $108, and she got pissed at me and was saying they didn’t order that much. She begrudgingly paid and then wrote “no tip” on the ticket. Normally, I’d understand if the service was bad or something, especially since I still had other tables on the other side of the restaurant, but I gave their event priority since my other tables were regulars, understood, and didn’t mind getting a little less attention. I’m not as pissed about the lack of tip as I am about the fact that she told me every food item to put on her tab and then tried to claim I was overcharging her. She was paying for herself and seven other people, who all ate and had fountain drinks. It baffles me that $108 for seven people was outrageous for her, especially since our restaurant is considered fairly cheap.
Also, mini complaint, another girl kept telling me to put her two meals and sex on the beach on other peoples tabs, to which those people kept telling me not to do it. Don’t just assume someone else is going to pay for your tab, and definitely don’t glutton out when you think somebody else is paying your tab. This is more of a personal thing, but if somebody else is paying for me I’ll usually end up getting something cheaper than what I would normally get myself. Just because you think someone else is paying for you doesn’t mean you get to spend all of their money, it’s not right. And don’t complain about a $30 tab when you got two meals and alcoholic drinks for yourself.

These are my own thoughts and opinions but the 2010 Splatterhouse attempted reboot/remake that came and went to me felt a little uneven and a little bit all over the place in terms of tone and structure.
The game felt like it wanted to be a tribute to the original games with some of the monster designs and little moments but then couldn't figure out if it wanted to be horror, comedy or an action brawler.
I think the missed opportunity with the remake was that they didn't focus on the genre of Splatterhouse all that much, which is atmospheric, gruesome and disturbing horror content that had occasional little horror tributes sprinkled throughout it as well tbh.
You always felt like a powerhouse going through all of the enemies and bosses and I never once felt as if I was vulnerable and any minute terrified of the enemies and threat that I was about to face which is a shame when you look back at the first three titles in the franchise that were absolutely creepy and rich with atmospheric horror and scares too.
They should have made it a Dantes Inferno or God Of War 2018 style of combat system, but then in the slower parts you should have been terrified of what's coming around the corner with a huge part of survival horror atmosphere, tension, and that high level of constant dread surrounding you within
Splatterhouse 3 as much as it is the hardest game of the series is still the most nightmare fuel filled atmospheric, and terrifying narrative experience of the franchise. Enemies from the first cannibalistic boss, to the boreworm Queen who's laugh is similar to a child mocking you during the fight, to a literal teddy bear who taunts you before its arms split apart and becomes flesh body horror Nightmares is what the 2010 remake should have focused on.
I think having an all heavy metal soundtrack, the goofy trying to be sexual and over reliant on action sequences really crushed me as a fan because it should have been more atmospheric and terrifying.

I recently had mini-splits installed in my house. The condensate drains to my basement where I had an open drain to the sewer main with a p-trap on it. They replaced the p trap with this make shift p trap. My question is if this is going to work to keep sewer smells out of my basement (and house). The mini-splits have a pretty low flow rate but maybe that doesn't matter. P.s. the green hose is connected to a de-humidifier that needs a place to drain. Thanks!

My wife and I (I’m a woman) just went on our first week long trip together without our child. We have gone on weekend trips without her but never longer than 3 days.
My Father invited us on a kid-free trip and paid for our lodgings. He also kind of sprung it on us without confirming so we kind of had to go (which is a whole other story). Anyway, our daughter is 4 and her grandmother who is her favorite person in the whole world watched her. We thought it would be a little tough on her but she was so excited to see her grandma. They played, her grandmother took her all over the place, had a birthday party for her, bought her a little pool with a fountain, basically they had an amazing time while we were gone.
We have been back for 5 days and today her daycare teacher pulled my wife aside and said that my daughter has been crying and asking for my wife. That she sometimes refuses to play with her friends, or doesn’t want to make art projects. And she had been clingy to her teachers. Our daughter is a very clingy kid who is always cuddling her teachers at school. She was so clingy as a baby I couldn’t make dinner for the 2 year without her crying.
I knew our daughter was going to be disregulated from her routine being disrupted. I appreciate her teacher letting my wife know that her behavior changed. However she told my wife that if daughters behavior continues then we might have to have a conference? She also said that maybe we should consider taking our child on trips with us next time. Teacher said some other stuff that seemed like she was shaming us for going on a trip without our child. We just took daughter to a water park with our whole family for 4 days a month ago. She always goes on trips with us. We have gone on several in the last year. We don’t have a babysitter and have very little family here so we are always together.
This teacher has said some rather insulting stuff to us in the past so I’m trying to take what she said with a grain of salt. Isn’t it normal for a toddler to be off after their parents go on a trip? Is having a “conference” about normal toddler behavior a thing? Do other parents never go on child-free trips?
We both work a lot but make a conscious effort to give our daughter tons of quality time.

When I search 10 pages on amazon, every search term on youtube, the best I can find is a book called sumo skills and one called sumo for mix martial arts, watching all DOSUKOI videos, and don don. . they are maybe a 3/10 on depth compared to literally millions of 10/10 resources for the other martial arts . almost all sumo guides are on keiko and the art and beauty of the sport (which is not lost on me!) and more of a grand sumo analysis. just as an example: Ryan Hall is a professional ufc fighter who makes 5 hour courses online where you can learn about a specific position that no one in the world is better at. they cost $200 for 5 hours of video. https://bjjfanatics.com/products/flip-em-for-real-by-ryan-hall#cprtstatus=_cp_1!channel!AgND37lObtvy

The level to which you can impose your power and speed really throws a wrench in the techniques these arts use, not to mention other sports do not have a dohyo where the you can also push them out, not just get them to the floor. plus the belt!! Plus Tsuppari!!

please understand my frustration that after a year all I can find is basically marketing and basics mostly designed for grand sumo spectators(which I am an absolute fan boy for). It is so difficult for me to believe that after 1300 years, and sumo being practice in nearly every middle school and high school in japan, that there aren't detailed instructions on how to do a proper uwatenage other than a superficial illustration or NHK's clips. There must be a huge market of instructional videos for eager parents to work on with their kids. I'm looking for the good instructional videos even if its in Japanese even if I have to pay for the instructions and you for the tip.
TLDR:Its because the forbidden knowledge cannot be found in English
I believe the issue is that I cant search in Japanese. if someone can try some searches in Japanese or go on Japanese forums and find what the best videos are (please not just keiko drills or grand sumo fan analysis) you would change my life and the life of some high potential teens in our sumo club (not me I'm old but these kids are amazing and they deserve better). I'm just going to keep searching so please help us! We can scrounge up some cash a pay you! If you live in japan can you ask your sumo coach at your school or anyone you know? we respectfully do all fundamental keiko drills and study Kimarite .

I believe the issue is that I cant search in Japanese. if someone can try some searches in Japanese or go on Japanese forums and find what the best videos are (please not just keiko drills or grand sumo fan analysis) you would change my life and the life of some high potential teens in our sumo club (not me I'm old but these kids are amazing and they deserve better). I'm just going to keep searching so please help us! We can scrounge up some cash a pay you! If you live in japan can you ask your sumo coach at your school or anyone you know? we respectfully do all fundamental keiko drills and study Kimarite .

The vehicle took about 3 days in total to repair. I explained our situation to the mechanic over the phone and asked if we could hold off until the weekend to pick it up. He agreed that would be fine, so Saturday morning Devon and I took the Civic back to Alabama to retrieve the SUV.
We had put a ton of miles on the road together, considering we literally never went anywhere fun. We were one week away from our first anniversary. Devon spent the first nine months of our marriage on deployment, and in the other 3 months, we managed to squeeze in a trip to Texas, Wyoming, Tennessee, and Alabama...twice. Good lord. So much for a "honeymoon".
Once we made it back to the shop, the mechanic began reading off the long list of shit they had to do to get the vehicle operational again. We could not afford to pay for the repairs out of pocket. Fortunately for us, they offered lines of credit for people in our situation. I applied and was approved for $20.00 less than the costs of the repair. I took what I could in credit and paid $20.00 out of pocket.
The vehicle was back in our possession, and it was time to head back to Mississippi. I drove my Civic and Devon drove his Explorer.
About an hour from home, my phone started ringing. It was Supreme, from the old apartment complex. What could he want? I answered, and he said he had something for us, but he wouldn't tell me what. Me, hoping it was weed, told him we would be home in about an hour if he wanted to swing through then.
Shortly after Devon and I pulled into the driveway, Supreme pulled up, threw it in park, and grabbed a large box out of his back seat.
That's a lot of weed.
Devon held the door open for Supreme, and he set the large box on our coffee table.
The fuck.
That's not weed.
It's a box of kittens.
He said he found the litter out by the dumpsters at the apartment complex. It wasn't too far from where Devon had found Peanut back in February. I wouldn't be surprised if this litter was from Peanut's unfixed mother as well.
The kittens were tiny and adorable, but I refused to pick one up. I thanked him for showing us, but-
Then I looked over and Devon had the ugliest kitten in his hands and the biggest smile on his face.
"Oh, no, we really don't need another kitten." I said.
Devon, who somehow acquired a string and is now teasing the ugliest kitten with it, said, "The fuck we don't. This one is staying."
That's how we acquired our second cat: Punk.
