In Anguish, the Wife of a July 11th Prisoner on a Hunger Strike in Cuba, ‘He Could Lose His Life’
Before July 11, 2021, Yosvany Rosell García Caso spent his days between working as a welder and rearing his three children. That Sunday his life took a turn when he joined the mass protests in Holguín. Six months later, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for sedition. Wednesday marked his 20th day on a hunger strike, demanding his immediate release.
“He is refusing intravenous hydration,” adds Rodríguez, who spoke with her husband to “try to get him to change his position.” However, 34-year-old Rosell was determined to “continue the hunger strike because he is tired of having his rights, and that of other 11J prisoners, continuously violated.”
“I understand him perfectly, but he is in a situation where he could lose his life and that worries me greatly,” says the anguished woman. Rosell began the hunger strike on May 11, following an incident where prison authorities denied him a visit from his wife and his three children, and as the days passed he expanded his demands to include his release as soon as possible.
Since he began the hunger strike, the woman, desperately, has gone to the prison on four occasions, but they did not allow her to see him and they did not even allow him religious attention. “After much begging they only let me see him yesterday at midday when he was already in the hospital. Today I am going over there again to see if they will let me in,” she said.
Rodríguez says that the damage is not only emotional or physical, “In addition to violating his human rights, the family has lived through two very difficult years, because he was the breadwinner. We’ve suffered repression and an economic hit for his being in prison.
This is not the first time Rosell is on a hunger strike. In February 2022, he did not eat while demanding that he not be transferred from Holguín to a prison in Cienfuegos and demanding improved conditions in prison. At that time, he had been the victim of suspended telephone calls or being kept in isolation.
Several months later, in July of last year, Rossell once again resorted to a hunger strike after being beaten for dressing in white in remembrance of the mass protests on 11J.
“I do not regret anything in the least bit. How could I regret wanting to see my country free of a communist dictatorship, which for more than 60 years, has subjected us to extreme misery and violated all our human rights? That blessed July 11th not only marked a before and after the beginning of the end of communism in Cuba, it also showed the worst face of the dictatorship,” he wrote in a letter shared on social media weeks earlier.

It's unlikely that communist Cuba will improve its prison conditions, however, as the country in general has problems keeping the lights on and its standard of living remains very low. Here's hoping for a successful 11J-style uprising against the dictators.

So as the title suggests back when I was still at school I was in the closet and would’ve preferred to keep it that way.
Now by no means was I a good kid in school I was always getting into fights and arguing with teachers etc.
One day I decided to come out to my friends via Snapchat, (I did this publicly however I had no family on Snapchat and explicitly said that I didn’t want my family to know when I posted it).
Fast forward a couple months and my mum gets called in for a meeting about my bad behaviour (business as usual) EXCEPT this time I wasn’t allowed into the school and had to stay in the car.
Turns out the meeting wasn’t about my behaviour at all… apparently someone showed their teacher the screenshot about me coming out as gay and the school decided it was appropriate to screenshot that and blindside my mum and i with it.
Then they kicked me out of the school in that same meeting. They claim it’s because of my behaviour however it’s definitely more than a little suspicious that they did that in the same meeting where they kicked me out.
I ended up contacting OFSTED (the people who oversee schools and investigate these types of situations).
They were very very interested and conducted an investigation into the school. The school naturally denied it however there was a camera that recorded audio in the meeting room.
So when the OFSTED lady reviewed the tape it proved to show the school was lying. Safe to say the head mistress and all deputy head teachers were fired and a huge reshuffle happened and the black mark I got against my name for being kicked out of a school was removed

I'm looking for someone to talk with throughout the day and night and do things together. There would be no expectations on what we become to each other, but whatever happens, happens. Upon recovery, Hank was bent on revenge. Working with a man named Hector Salamanca, he plotted to kill Fring. The bomb that he used was built by me, and he gave me no option in it. I have often contemplated suicide, but I'm a coward. I wanted to go to the police, but I was frightened. Hank had risen to become the head of the Albuquerque DEA. To keep me in line, he took my children. For three months, he kept them. My wife had no idea of my criminal activities, and was horrified to learn what I had done. I was in hell. I hated myself for what I had brought upon my family. Recently, I tried once again to quit, and in response, he gave me this. [Walt points to the bruise on his face left by Hank in "Blood Money."] I can't take this anymore. I live in fear every day that Hank will kill me, or worse, hurt my family. All I could think to do was to make this video and hope that the world will finally see this man for what he really is.

Here's an anecdote. I'm not sure how useful it would be for all of you.
I planted some tomatoes with a row of mustard leaves in front, intending to harvest the mustard before the tomatoes got big. I was running an experiment where I was giving urine to some of the tomatoes, a high phosphorus potassium fertilizer to some, both to others, and nothing to a single control plant.
The mustards planted in front of the urine only tomatoes Got eaten down to nothing by these little white c***s. The ones in front of the urine and phosphorus/potassium fertilizer got hit but there was still some left for me. The ones in front of the phosphorus / potassium only tomatoes are still growing. My harvested what I wanted to eat and left the others to flowesee how long they would survive. Spider mites are getting after them now but the cabbage moths will barely touch them.
And the near future, I plan on doing another experiment with brassicas similar to this unintentional experiment. See if it was just a fluke or if there's something there.

I'm honestly unsure what to do here, so I've made a throwaway Reddit account so I can get some input. I recently picked up an OG Xbox, and the thing is in excellent condition. Inside is utterly spotless, and the outside has next to no blemishes. As I've been reading up on the console, I've been figuring out what I need to do in order to ensure the console's longevity, and due to its reliance on the hard drive to boot, and the fact that it has an old IDE drive in it, I figured that once I softmodded it, it'd be relatively simple to replace by following the necessary steps with Chimp.
Cut to now and I've since run through two separate replacement hard drives, both of which I checked for compatibility ahead of time. Did my research on the SATA adapter I bought as well, and picked up a Starlink. The IDE cable has been properly replaced as well. Despite knowing that the SSDs I've picked up are both compatible and have been used by others, with both of them I'm having the same issue.
When I start up the Xbox with a cloned hard drive attached, all I get is a black screen after the bios runs its course. I can tell that the hard drive is properly recognized because of the Microsoft logo, and the fact that I don't get any errors, but it's as if the console doesn't want to output any video once it's booted from the cloned hard drive.
The only information I managed to find on this issue was a suggestion that the hard drive wasn't compatible, and that's the reason the black screen was happening. But considering I've checked both of the SSDs I picked up for compatibility beforehand, I'm at a loss for what to do.
Sorry if this is a lot of text for someone who's never posted here before, just want to figure out what's going on with this issue so I can solve it and properly replace the hard drive. The link I included showcases the exact issue I'm having, as recorded today from the latest SSD I attempted to use.

This maybe sounds really silly, but recently I have been thinking a lot about Evangelion and especially its ending even though I havent really watched the anime in more than a couple months. I started to think how she, if Shinji didn't request to go back would quite possibly be one of if not the most powerful entity in all of fiction.
Maybe it's a bit of a stretch and a really stupid theory, but I'd like to believe that if Shinji didn't want to go back, Angel Rei wouldn't have stopped at Earth to turn everyone into LCL to be one with everyone else. I feel like it'd be pretty weird for her to just float in space forever and that she would instead travel to other universes for planets with life so she can remove their barriers by making them become one with everyone else inside her, which btw from what I saw in the show makes her bigger and bigger=stronger.
Not to mention that her power to turn everyone into LCL is just unbeatable so no one would be able to stop her, she would be like black hole in a sense if you think about it.

Does anyone else think like this?

My (33F) friend’s (34F) dad was fighting stage 4 cancer and not doing well.She was struggling so I tried to be there (she lived an hour away) I had 2 toddlers at the time and working FT but was constantly checking in on her and visiting when I could. I sent her care packages as well to her dad while in the hospital. 2 weeks before her dad died, I went to her house with my other friend (34F). We were all playing games (everyone was drinking heavily except me as I had to get up early) when her husband (48M) asked my friend if she minds being called a Nword. She uncomfortably says I guess not if ppl feel the need to say it without being disrespectful. Shortly after it is her turn and he says “Go n*” and we’re just like ?? And then he says it again so I said ok time for bed. The next morning I leave before everyone wakes up. Shortly after, my friends dad passes away. I came to see her the week of and was at the funeral. And called/text her multiple times. Then set up a girls day 2 weeks after he passed away and bought gifts, all the food and everything. I just wanted her to get away and have a good day. After a few hours, I asked my friend if she had talked to her husband about what happened. She had no idea what I was talking about. Apparently everyone else was blacked out & no one else remembers it. She calls her husband. He instantly denies it and gets infuriated at me saying he can’t believe I would ever say he would do something like that and I must have dreamt it. She gets mad I brought it up that night and didn’t talk to them right after it happened. I told her I wanted it to be in person and agreed I shouldn’t have brought it up the night we were celebrating her dad and apologized. She told me I needed to figure this out with her husband bc she was dealing with enough losing her dad. I called and text him multiple times but he refused to talk to me. She then proceeded to tell me she needed to take a break from me for a while. This was a BIG trigger for me and told her that was unacceptable and this was on him not me. The conversation didn’t go well and we went 5 months without talking until she text me on my birthday saying how I push people away, I made everything about me, I abandoned her during one of the worst times of her life, and other things she knew would hurt me. Few weeks later, she admitted she said some things she didn’t mean only because she was mourning and taking it out on people she loved most. I told her I appreciated her saying that but I also couldn’t just forget some of the things she said ab me just bc she lost her dad. In which she lost her mind on me and we haven’t talked since. I’ve heard from a few people she has told them I wasn’t there for her when her dad died and she’s glad she found out who her real friends are and that I wasn’t one. AITBF??
