I'm pissed at my brother for throwing his life away
2023.03.22 07:13 jaidenelson69 I'm pissed at my brother for throwing his life away
My brother (23) and I (18) are super close, but I now feel a growing sense of disdain for him. He went to college a few years back but he failed miserably and hasn't gone back since. He's been a manager at a movie theater since 2019 and has literally no motivation to get back on track. He is always asking me and his friends to loan him money since he is financially irresponsible and can't resist the urge to buy something for more than 2 seconds. On top of all that, he just doesn't take care of himself at all. He's always wearing dirty clothes and smells like shit. He is, however, a fantastic older brother. He's the only person I can really talk to and openly be myself around. I want him to succeed because he deserves it, but he seems to be hellbent on living like a slob in our dad's basement for the rest of his life.

2023.03.22 05:35 IIog22 What happens to Hulu?
| we saw news last months that arent good ones for Hulu, either Disney or comcast will sell or one will buy, or i dont know, so here are my possible takes on the busniess Scenario 1: Disney Buys Hulu In this scenario, Disney acquires Comcast stake on Hulu, then mergers both Hulu and Disney+, so they can be more bigger in the streaming busniess, and the possibility of making more mature movies without relasing them on movie theaters, adding more diversity to the platform. Also, meaning that the Disney bundle might be only Disney+ and ESPN+. https://preview.redd.it/vlpkz7gwx7pa1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=5d1c9b3237723c691c811c845e971d08ffb49778 Scenario 2: Comcast buys Hulu In this scenario, Comcast acquires Hulu, and like the Disney one, they merger it with Peacock, but instead of keeping the Peacock brand, they will keep the Hulu brand as it´s way more popular, and some TV shows from NBCUniversal and TV animated shows from Dreamworks might move from Netflix and other streaming services to stay permanently on Hulu, and also the Live Sports segment might have some increase in popularity, as they own NBC Sports. https://preview.redd.it/1y7eniz1y7pa1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=67fc55cf0cfc77a6bd7a2267ab28f1f7b592df04 Scenario 3: Microsoft buys Hulu In this scenario, both Disney and Comcast sell Hulu to focus on their own platforms, for me the only logical buyer can be Microsoft, since it has planned to expand to other areas, the acquisition of Hulu might be its first move, and it would be more cheaper than Netflix. Also, Microsoft can add Gamepass on Hulu, the way Netflix wants to add games on the platform, and also add on the 365 pack. And also Hulu can finally become a global brand under Microsoft Microsoft Brands So thats how i see the situation. I hope you enjoyed my explanation. submitted by IIog22 to MediaMergers [link] [comments] |
2023.03.22 05:28 JaniesWurld A few questions about Park Place in the 1990s...
I grew up in Kirkland and have since moved away, but I figured this was the best place to see if anyone might remember a few shops that used to be in Park Place.
These were all there in the 90s, but I don't think lasted even until 2000 -- the first was a video store sandwiched between Noah's Bagels and the optometrist. The logo had green in it, but that's all I can remember.
The second is a CD/record store that was next to the movie theater - I only remember it being "something-street" or something like that.
I know this is probably a fools errand, but if anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it!

2023.03.22 03:59 CoffeeFox93 I asked a girl out tonight! Sort of.
She's a coworker who I've been crushing on, and we both work at a movie theater. We're kindred spirits for sure, and have been hitting it off more and more lately. Today we were working together and I mentioned watching "Everything Everywhere All At Once" a second time since we're playing it again. She mentioned she hadn't seen it yet but really wanted to, and throughout the day it seemed like we were both hinting around at... something.
I went ahead and got two tickets for after work and very nervously caught her before she left. I said, "Hey so I know you said you wanted to watch this, and honestly no pressure I won't be offended if not, but I went ahead and got two tickets if you want to go after work." and she totally did!
It was a blast, I bought us drinks and we shared some french fries and then both proceeded to cry at how beautiful that movie is. One coworker even said "Awe" when she found out that we were going together.
I wouldn't really consider it a date though, we did sit next to one another and I did buy us some drinks, and we do both have like a lot in common, HOWEVER, she has a long distance boyfriend and I'm a little older than her (I'm 29, shes 23). Plus we both kind of awkwardly stood around and talked to coworkers until parting ways at separate times after the movie since we're both socially anxious.
Why am I here saying all of this? Well because I didn't think about my ex once the entire night I was out and it was the best night I've had in like 6 or 7 months since the breakup. I took the time to process the breakup and heal myself, and that's why tonight was so fun, no guilt or baggage to ruin my hard work.
Also I'm just giddy and overthinking everything, even if it was just a friendly type of hangout that goes nowhere. I'm not one to ruin someone else's relationship, after all I know how it feels to be left for someone else, so all I really wanted to do was let her know that I am interested if things were to line up some day in the future.
I don't really have anyone to share this with though, and figured this place was always encouraging to healing after a breakup.

2023.03.22 03:59 Suspicious-Poetry221 What would you do? Pay extra or say ha.
Seller of a home just listed under a week ago had open house & we fell in love with the renovations, the space in each room, the layout and ease of access from multiple points- side, front and backyard. The fenced in yard, pool, master suite with built in sauna , basement with entertainment & game bar & movie theater area. & basement gym. The bedrooms are ample sizes but have small Victorian sized closets (still plenty big for dresser, desk, and full/queen beds, renovated bathrooms, finished attic with a man cave lol (urinal for bathroom & separated living area and gaming area), low taxes even upon sale/reassessment, above ground pool.
Good: -recently replaced roof, furnace, central air, oil tank removal, oldest thing is the fence within 10 years.
-has a dining room and living room and family room!!
Issues; -On a Busy road. Like the town residents complained all over the Facebook page saying don’t live off main road always get traffic. An accident can cause a standstill for an hour. (It’s literally the only main drag for multiple towns off the highway, less you spend time and effort driving double the distance out of way)
(However Victorian house may have good insulation. Because couldn’t head main road from inside besides one room where the old windows are still there)
-house is a foot or less away from neighbor. Yuck. At least the windows on that side are minimal and u kind of forget to look over there
-corner lot, doesn’t bother me, just hate how other corner is main drag.
-school system good, not the best. Not horrible. Good for sports
-kitchen eventually needs a remodel maybe add big walk in pantry and remove eik and install center island.
Unknowns: -across from police station/municipal building
-over time other areas have become a flood zone due to small river- so afraid over time area may actually be a flood zone in future.
-Home is built pre 1900.
Selling agent has been saying they’ve been expecting multiple offers, however after our offer was submitted 10k over ask, they’re saying they appreciate the offer and the thoroughness of our application from lender and realtor, but they want to show the house again and expected multiple offers and want 40k over what they listed. So they’re asking us to raise our offer to match what their mental expectation was and we’re guaranteed the house and they won’t accept or show the house. They’ve owned it for almost 20 years. And their list is almost 200% what they bought it for.
We toyed with the idea of just paying the 15k extra. However the house in the area doesn’t justify spending extra. Recent sales , even if above 20% list are still below our over asking offer Our relator says we’d basically guarantee covering over appraisal. Lender says we’d just renegotiate or walk.
So we’ve politely declined to increase our offer 15k. If they want to be greedy, that’s fine. Figured if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be. However if they come back to us edging 2 weeks after their open house pending this week we’ll consider decreasing our offer to the list price for being greedy haha.
Why is this all mental mind games, guessing games, and a game of chicken

2023.03.22 02:44 QuitInfinite Best review yet for AMC Popcorn!
2023.03.22 02:30 TheMattAttack452 Heredity, Midsommar, and The Lighthouse are terrible movies in my opinion.
I wish I could understand why people love them so much. I’ve seen all of them once and all three movies in separate clips online before I even watched them in their entireties. I do not mind gore or blood or anything crude whatsoever and even think that a lot of movies could use more sometimes, but all of these movies just went so far over the top with horribly graphic or incredibly unnecessarily crude scenes. But if they weren’t enough, I cannot for the life of me stand when films try to be so artistic and are sometimes more metaphorical than anything else. These movies made me feel awful after and left me wishing I had never seen them. They were all a waste of time when I could have just looked up online actual footage of people getting horribly maimed or killed and it would’ve given me the same feeling AND saved me a couple of hours.
These movies then have made me worry about watching any A24 films, as my gf and I went and saw “Men” hoping it would be a good film, when in reality, it was another awful shitshow of metaphors and stupid unnecessary visuals.
Luckily, for the first time, A24 released “The Whale” and “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” which my gf and I saw both in theaters and we loved them both, the latter a bit more. They were enjoyable and, even if there were artistic metaphors or crudeness, they did it in a way that was still good enough and not like a child trying their hardest to be crude for crudeness sake. And any metaphors were also understood, thankfully. Why the fuck would I wanna look up what anything about a movie meant after said movie? That defeats the purpose of me going to see the movie. I wanna understand and enjoy it, not be confused and have someone else online explain it to me.
Anyway, that’s just my opinion. But it has always baffled me as to why people liked those movies.

2023.03.22 02:29 ResponsibleOlive8136 Where Can I Watch 'Cocaine Bear' Free Online Streaming?
Universal Pictures! Here are options for downloading or watching Cocaine Bear streaming the full movie online for free on 123movies & Reddit, including where to watch the anticipated Horror movie at home. Cocaine Bear 2023 available to stream? Is watching Cocaine Bear on Disney Plus, HBO Max, Netflix or Amazon Prime? Yes, we have found an authentic streaming option/service.
Watch Now: Cocaine Bear Online Free The film industry has no shortage of movies based on real-life events, all with varying accuracy to the events that are being adapted. From impeccably faithful biopics like the story of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. seen in Selma (2014) to looser comedic outings like the recent parody Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, films based on true stories are easily the most common and sought-after premises by studios for potential projects, as they're typically far easier to procure the rights for than an established, popular IP. It feels like every other week a new film based on real-life events hits either movie theaters or any of the many streaming services out there, but every once in a while, a film releases a trailer with the words "Based on a true story" in it that features a premise so bizarre and so absurd that it can't possibly be true.
Yet, a true story is exactly what inspired the next film from filmmaker Elizabeth Banks, Cocaine Bear (2023), which tells the very real story of, you guessed it, a black bear under the influence of cocaine. Well, to be perfectly honest, the inciting incident and namesake of the film is seemingly the only true event to be seen, originating from an event where a wild Georgian bear helped itself to a large serving of smuggled cocaine when a plane crashed in the state in 1985. The horrific and bloody rampage that the bear embarks on for the film adaptation is fictional, but it also looks like a hell of an absurd good time.
Where can you watch Cocaine Bear? Is it on Netflix? What about HBO Max? Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie:
What Is the Release Date for Cocaine Bear?
Moviegoers everywhere shall be able to see a mammal with a drug addiction wreak havoc and destruction on the state of Georgia when Cocaine Bear premieres exclusively in theaters on Friday, February 24th, 2023.
Is Cocaine Bear Being Released on Streaming or in Theaters?
Audiences who wish to learn just exactly how one of nature's apex predators ingested at least a kilo of an illicit substance will have to find a theater near them as that's the place where Cocaine Bear will be available once it premieres later this upcoming February. No announcements in regard to if and when Cocaine Bear will receive a streaming release have not yet been made, but Peacock seems to be a likely streaming home for the dark comedy given it's a production of Universal Pictures.
Peacock has a limited array of content for free and two main paid subscription plans, the latter two options of which will likely be required should Cocaine Bear arrive there. The base premium subscription costs $5.99 USD per month and features Peacock's entire catalog of movies and films with limited ads. The second and slightly more expensive premium plus plan costs $9.99 USD per month and removes ads entirely outside of live events and adds the ability to download select titles for offline viewing.
Where to Watch Cocaine Bear Online Free?
As of now, the only way to watch Cocaine Bear is to head to a theater when it releases on Friday, Feb. 3. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or buy on digital platforms like Vudu, Amazon, Apple and YouTube, or become available to stream on Peacock. Read on for more information.
Watch Now: Cocaine Bear Online Free
Following its release in theaters, the film will be available to stream on Peacock. Expect the movie to hit the streamer 45 days after its theatrical run, which should be sometime in December.
Will Cocaine Bear be on Netflix?
Unfortunately, Cocaine Bear isn’t available to stream on Netflix. The romantic comedy isn’t included in the lineup of Netflix movies, which includes a vast number of rom-coms featuring some of our favorite actors and actresses.
If you want to watch Julia Roberts movies on Netflix, check out Ben Is Back, August: Osage County, Steel Magnolias, and Runaway Bride. Roberts always appeared in Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve with her Cocaine Bear co-star George Clooney, and both movies are currently streaming on Netflix as of October 2023.
Will Cocaine Bear Streaming On HBO Max?
No, Cocaine Bear will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. While the company previously released its movies on HBO Max and in theaters on the same day, they have since stopped and have implemented a 45-day window between the theatrical release and streaming release.
Will Cocaine Bear Available On Peacock?
While a streaming release date has not yet been announced for Cocaine Bear, we can estimate when it could head to Peacock based on another Universal Pictures movie.
Violent Night, which hit theaters on Dec. 2, became available to stream on Peacock on Jan. 20 — a little over 45 days after its theatrical release. If Cocaine Bear follows the same pattern, it could make its way to the platform by mid-April. However, other movies like Nope took more than 100 days, so it’s best to take this estimate with a grain of salt.
What Is Cocaine Bear About?
Considering the enormous amount of writing talent that swims in our worldwide creative lake it can often be surprising when, beyond documentaries, we learn of a particular tale being true. However, sometimes the best and most ludicrous stories can only be the work of reality, and Cocaine Bear is one such narrative. Of course, exact details regarding the originality of the plot are yet to be seen but, with a true story as incredible as this one, it would be fair to suggest the writers may stay true to life.
The tale of Cocaine Bear dates back to an incident in December 1985. A notorious and previously convicted drug smuggler, who also happened to be a former narcotics officer, was piloting a plane when he realized his cargo was far too heavy. In an attempt to lighten his load, he dropped a duffel bag full of cocaine out of the plane. The pilot, Andrew C. Thornton II, then decided to chase after his fallen goods but, upon attempting to open his parachute, failed and plummeted to his death below. This may already seem like a wild tale, but it is truly only the beginning. The duffel bag of cocaine, worth almost fifteen million US dollars, then fell into the hands of a 175-pound American black bear who decided to consume it. The narrative of the film is likely to follow the events of the bear who, under this incredible influence, went on a drug-fueled killing spree. The rest of the story, due to its non-fiction nature, has been well documented, however, to avoid any potential spoilers for the film it may be wise to leave the tale at that juncture.
