I'm Mexican but grew up here in MN. 30 years old, 5'11" and 210 lbs. So a little chubby but I have been more active lately and have actually lost weight, about 40 lbs, over the winter.
Lately I've been trying to stay away from TV and reading more but I do enjoy a good movie or TV show. Mysteries/Fantasy are probably my favorite genres right alongside documentaries and other non fiction material. The Wire is my favorite show to give you some idea of the things I vibe with.
I love music and I like to write it as well. I play guitar along with some other instruments. I'm always down for live music and Jazz is my favorite kind of music. I enjoy photography whenever possible. Generally invovling going for a hike and snapping nature pics.
I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes. I'm a sucker for a nice piece of cookware and cutlery. Bread baking is something I've been into for a while as well. When not cooking I love trying new places and experiencing new cuisines. Definitely not a same meal every day kind of guy.
I'm 420 friendly and imbibe frequently. I also enjoy a good drink, preferably straight whiskey, but I'll try anything once.
Not sure I even believe in love. Not sure I even think life has any meaning at this point. What I am sure about is one of the few things that actually has some meaning is the connection we make with others. A deep, intimate and meaningful bond is something I haven't made yet but still holding a smidge of hope it can happen.

As the title suggests, my store’s new Swing Manager is pissing me off.
Long ish rant so get ready to read 🧍‍♂️
Today we had him transfer over to our store from a different store in our franchise for reasons that I don’t know about.
For context, I’m a 19 y.o. male working in Western Canada. I picked up a short 12pm-4pm shift earlier today. I came in and we we r so busy (we r walking distance to four schools, two sports arenas, lots of businesses, and next to the City’s busiest freeway). In all this chaos, he tells me to go clean the washrooms. I told him that three other ppl cleaned it before me so it didn’t need to be cleaned, but he insisted that I clean it still, so I oblige, and it took me like two mins to restock the paper towel and wipe the counters. He said, “U were too quick.”, but that’s only cuz it was already clean. So I go back and stand on my phone for like ten mins.
I come back to go on MCDEL and help on FC w a trainee, and he tells me to put a hairnet on. Mind u, I have nothing wrong w wearing a hairnet in the Kitchen or on Fries, but I was doing FC and MCDEL. I was so confused cuz he didn’t have a hairnet on (he was running for DT), and neither did anyone else in FC or DT have a hairnet on, neither did the trainee. I didn’t have time to argue so I threw a hairnet on for like 15 mins to make him happy and then I took it off after cuz I deemed that it was unnecessary to have one on.
I walk by him and he gets mad saying, “Hey, u threw ur hairnet away. Go put another one on.”, again, although I was pissed and confused, it was busy and I had no time to argue.
Fast forward, and I’m running for McDelivery (DoorDash, UberEats, etc.). I’m doing great managing the orders myself and then he comes up to me and says, “I’ll take it from here, go on Fries.” Now, we have no DT Runner during the lunch rush. While I’m on fries, there’s one trainee doing FC, the Swing Mngr is doing MCDEL, and our DT times are in red. I don’t mind wearing a hairnet on Fries, but in my opinion, the trainee should be on Fries, he should be the DT Runner, and I should be on MCDEL and FC. But that’s just my opinion as a Team Leader (called an “Area Leader” at some stores).
Fast forward, and I’m on BDAP (which is basically the drinks station). I’m doing my best making all these hot and cold drinks and milkshakes and smoothies all while taking orders on lane two. He comes up to me, and tells me to, “We r in red, get us out of red.” At that point, I’m all like ??? Cuz first he tells me to clean the already clean washrooms then to put on a hairnet for FC and MCDEL. And then he takes me off MCDEL/FC to go on Fries, making the Presenter do Running and Presenting, and has a trainee to FC all by himself. THEN, he takes me off Fries to go on BDAP, and tells ME to get us out of red, even tho he was the one who left his station.
I did lots of looking around and I was the only one who was being treated like this by him. In my opinion, I just think it was unfair to be singled out like that and to be blamed for a problem that he created. I’m tryna give him the benefit of the doubt cuz he just coulda been stressed on his first day at his new store, but if he continues I do plan to talking to him about it cuz it was really annoying

Me 18m her 18f. I’ve been seeing this girl at the place we train for a few weeks and I asked her out this weekend to go play mini golf and get some food afterwards. She said yes and we’re going this weeekend. Assuming I’m going to pick her up I was wondering if I should take my car which is a 2020 Ford focus (which for 18yr old is a nice car) or my dads Mercedes as a nicer options. What do you guys think. I know it sounds cringe maybe fake and maybe a bit show off but might make a better first impression and add to a more fun experience for her

So I'm a dude...
We typically don't get compliments from women (unless we're dating them or their our mothers).
But I went to a pharmacist earlier today to pick up some prescription medicine and as one of the clerks gestured me over I handed her my form.
But as she was serving me she just randomly looks up at me and tells me that I have such 'refreshing skin.'
I've never heard such an oddly specific compliment before. The worst I've had is when a first date started deconstructing my appearance right in front of me one time and listing off all the things she loved (my teeth, my ears etc.). But I digress...
As a dude, I have no idea what refreshing skin means. I assume it's good. But... I was admittedly confused.
So I laughed and said 'I have refreshing skin?...' hoping she might elaborate without it looking like I'm interrogating her but she just nodded and said "Yes, It's so refreshing."
She looked a little embarrassed so I didn't want to press her.
But as a clueless dude. What the bloody hell is 'refreshing' skin?... Lol. Makes my skin sound like some tropical ice tea flavor.
My advice to women would be: if you're going to compliment someone then just be normal about it. Don't go for these weird avant-garde type of compliments (you'll genuinely just confuse us).

So, last week I was going to lose my virginity to the most amazing guy I've ever met in my life. After class we went on a nature walk and he took me to my favorite lake area. After a couple hours he took me out to eat and let me order whatever I wanted, I tried to not get too much but I couldn't help myself (He even let me get desert). After dinner we took a walk near his house and watched the sunset while laying on a blanket, he lives near a park with this massive hill and it was so beautiful.
Then we went to his house and I started feeling uncomfortable. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to be rude, but he kissed me on my lips and I kissed him back. He picked me up, which was incredible because he's a fairly short and shrimpy guy but it was so romantic. We went to his room and that's when I knew that I didn't want to go through with it. He stripped his clothes but before he removed underwear I asked him to stop. He asked if I was okay and I told him that I wasn't ready and that I wanted to go home. He sighed and told me okay and that he needed to use the bathroom. He took a while but when he came back out he put his clothes back on and asked if I was ready to go and I said yes. When he drove me home it was a silent drive but he stopped at an ice cream place and bought me some ice cream. I said thanks but he didn't say anything still so I just kept quiet and ate my ice cream. When I got home I tried giving him a side hug but he took a few seconds before hugging me back. When I got in the house, luckily my father wasn't there, I took a shower and finished the ice cream while watching netflix then fell asleep. I still felt really bad and texted him the next day, he didn't respond, but later that night he apologized and said he was just frustrated but it wasn't my fault. He asked if I wanted to come over the following week, this week, and I told him yes and that we can try again. He got really excited and called me babe. So idk what I'm going to do, idk if I'm going to go through with it because it's just so crazy lol. I do appreciate that he treated me nicely though :)

I’m doing my first plc project and I’m trying to understand how ladder logic actually reads down. It’s for an inspection system that will take a picture of a part cognex , pass/fail, then pick it up and slide over to a chute with a flapper to route the part. So the two different courses of action of pass fail, are they in different rungs or in the same? Does ladder logic skip lines if needed or linear reads down and stops if there is a roadblock/unused scenario? Any YouTube recommendations will be appreciated, I’ve watch some but really haven’t been able to find the answer I’m looking for. Thank you!

Hello everyone. Just learned about this game and decided to pick it up while it's on sale. I didn't know River City Ransom was a long running series. I haven't played the original for NES in years. This looked really good and I like the role reversal idea for the protagonists. Also the music slaps too much.
I do have a couple questions regarding combat mechanics.
1) Is there a trick to using the block/parry mechanic? It feels a little disconnected from the rest of the combat and isn't very responsive when I try to use it. It also feels utterly useless once I start getting hit.
2) Is there a way to dodge besides the tiny hop up or down you do double-tapping up on the d-pad? Everyone else is doing all these cartwheels and flips and I'm here doing these wimpy hops.
I admit I'm not very good at these kinds of games, but I still enjoy them. If you have any additional tips beyond the questions I asked, I'm all ears. I would like to improve my skill and anything that can help is greatly appreciated.

I have a few questions on nights like this.
Why do people who live out in the stick expect a minivan to drive through the snowed over roads to come pick them up? If you truck is stuck in the lot why call us just to have your truck and my van stuck. To me it feels like people in Fargo get off on that.
You get a close as you can and it's not enough. They will yell and curse at you because you are supposed to magically drive through it.
Listen Fargo if the weather is like it is tonight stay home until roads are cleared. If you are at a friend's house you should either spend the night there or knowing the snow was coming left for home earlier. I am not risking my life for it.

From the lame ref ejecting mann early in the game. To the bad calls. And Lu dort, especially lu Dort stop playing like a god damn football player. Landing in PGs space to land was insane to watch just too much aggression there. Then idk what Ty lue had drawn up but Morris setting those brush screens and ball watching is the reason we don’t want to see him play

Take down: collar tie - inside tie

• Starting position: we have collar tie (right hand on their neck) and inside tie (left hand on their right bicep). Our partner takes the outside tie. Note: try to keep elbow down on collar grip for better control of partner.
• We'll put downward pressure (snap down) partner using these ties. Since we are snapping them downwards, they will have the tendency to react and go the other direction (upwards). We will time their upwards motion and use our inside tie to create space under their right armpit.
• Now, we drop our right knee to between their feet, and push our head, hip and left leg through that space under their right armpit. We roughly end up with our right flank against theirs. Remember to keep a strong collar tie.
• We pick their right leg with our left hand; our right hand still on collar tie. Now, pick up our right knee (the one that is kneeling between their feet) by turning 90 degree into them. If we have strong pressure on the collar tie and continue to turn, the takedown will be completed.

Notes:

• We want to keep breaking their posture, i.e. bend them with our collar tie. The lowemore bend their body is, the easier it is for us to complete the take down. If we allow them to stand straight up, this technique is not as effective.
• If their head is in the pocket of our shoulder, that can prevent us from pushing through the space under their armpit. We should reposition so our head is in their shoulder's pocket, allowing us to push through more easily.

Main topic: Underhook - Overhook Relationship
Important concept: Underhook is more effective when our belly buttons are facing each other. Overhook is more effective when our belly buttons are both facing same direction/the ground.
Half-guard Bottom - Partner Has Underhook Looking to Pass

• Starting position: we are playing bottom half-guard. Again, I'll assume we have our partners' right leg between our legs, and we are laying on our right flank (sorry lefties!!) Our partner finds an underhook on our left arm, and they are looking to pass.
• We need to take control of partner's left wrist with our right arm; otherwise, they can pass easily since they will have control on both sides.
• Axe kick with our left leg to sit up and get on our right palm. Free right leg so we are propped up by our knees and right hand. Now, both our belly button and partner's belly button is facing the ground => it's time to take the overhook! We are now in the dogfight position.
• Push down our left shoulder to smesh :D their face towards the ground. Note: we are not pulling their shoulder up to our armpit; we are pushing them down. Smesh.
• While keeping pressure, extend left leg out front. Then, right leg cross over and take front head lock. Try to position our fore-arms and grips in a way that lock their face, i.e. do not allow our partner to escape to the side.

Note:

• It's not useful to take early overhook, when our belly buttons are still facing each other. Instead, we can use our left arm for something else. For example, if our partner is not passing but pinning us hard (their head is on the underhook side), we can use our left arm and try to push their head towards the other side. Now, we have a bit less weight on our left side and can axe kick to get up.
• We need to keep good pressure when stepping to front and taking front head lock. If we don't, then our partner can shoot forward and perform a double leg takedown.

Half-guard Top - Punishing Bottom Player's Back Take Mistake

• Starting position: we are playing top half-guard (again, right leg in partner's guard). The bottom player finds an underhook in our right armpit, and they now look to take our back.
• As described in previous note, in a proper back take, the bottom player will bump the top player forward. This makes the top player drop both their hands on the mat to support their weight. Now, there is a safe space to go through and back take. However, let's suppose the bottom player makes a mistake and does not do this step, i.e. as a top player, our right arm is not supporting our weight.
• As the bottom player tries to back take with said underhook, there will be that moment where both our belly button and their belly button face the same direction. Time to punish: take that overhook. We are now in a mirror position to the above scenario: we are in the dogfight position with our right arm overhooking.
• Similar to above: push our right shoulder down to smesh, step right leg out front, cross left leg over, take front head lock.

Other examples of the underhook - overhook concept

• We are in half-guard bottom and take underhook. Partner takes overhook while our belly buttons are still facing each other. This is not advantageous for top player, and we can perform a Plan B sweep: We hug them tight to lock their arm, grab their knee with the other arm, and roll.
• We are under partner's side control and try to escape. We bridge and try to wrestle up, but we make the mistake of keeping the underhook when our belly buttons are roughly both facing the ground. Our partner can take an overhook and transfer to front head lock :(

I’m having the worst anxiety. My boyfriend and I had a small miscommunication today and I’ve had anxiety ever since. I told him it hurt me and he sincerely apologized. But after that, I now have extreme anxiety. I’m scared I’m forcing my love for him. I know I love him but genuinely I have never felt more anxious. My brain keeps going through all these scenarios and basically telling me that I’m just not breaking up with him because I don’t want to hurt him which isn’t true. I know he’s my person and I love when I don’t have anxiety. I called him again because I want to sleep with him because he’s so sweet and calms my anxiety. He didn’t pick up so now I’m just left here with my thoughts. I don’t want ROCD to ruin the best relationship that I’ve ever had :(

2 years ago, my uncle passed away to suicide. we held a celebration of life for him a few months after his passing. during the celebration they had us dress casually and enjoy ourselves, because "that's what Tim would have wanted"(name changed). after everyone had arrived and settled in they gave people the opportunity to tell stories about him and anyone could go up, they just had to get to the podium first. during this whole time i was thinking, ill go up after this person. well, that never happened so here we are! it was May 11th, 2019. my family went to a nearby city about an hour away from our house. we went to see captain marvel in theaters and thought that was all we were going to do for my brother's birthday, but it turned out "no, we have a surprise for you". there was a shop nearby to the theaters, a little outdoor area, think like a farmers' market so we walked around until it got dark and then hopped in the car. "we're going to Uncle Tim's house! [insert band name] is in town and have a concert tonight!" so, we went to Uncle Tim's house. we went there in a minivan with 5 seats the people on the way to Uncle Tim's house all the seats were filled. when we got there, we changed, and got ready to go, before we left i think we all noticed that Uncle Tim had an absolute massive stash of Hi-chew. he asked our dad if we could have some, my dad as we were about to go to dinner said no. Uncle Tim gave us some anyway. On the way to the concert the van was absolutely filled, and there were not enough seats for Uncle Tim to join us. so, he grabbed a bucket sat on it, no seatbelt whatsoever! we were just chilling with the music as loud as loud can be, singing, talking and laughing! the band is the kind of band where you can be extremely friendly with the artists, such as chatting with them and even being on a first name basis. my family likes to help them set up and take down all their instruments, speakers and anything else that needs to be transported to their van. so, when we got there, they were all done setting up. we ordered food and the band started to play, we were huge dancers back then so Uncle Tim would be picking me up and dancing with me i even have a video from my mom recording, several actually. we did that until ~10:30 at night. afterwards we got autographs and some merchandise. and helped the band pack up their stuff. after all that about an hour had passed it was now 11:26 pm and we got a photo with everyone. that is unfortunately the only photo of my uncle Tim i have in my phone. thank you for reading all this, I didn't even know i could write all of this. I 100% cried a few times writing this.

Market research Over the last 12 months I've started doing market research and have cleared about $1800 since starting. Per hour its worked out to about $70 p/h.
First tip - those cheap $2 survey sites are a waste of time. You'll need to sink many hours to get a noticeable amount of money. Avoid them.
Second tip - spend the time to sign up to reputable market research sites. The ones I use and make money from are:
RTR
Focus People
Chit Chat Research
Farron Research
Third tip - wait for these sites to email you, and complete those surveys. Except for RTR, you should proactively fill out surveys there.
Fourth tip - do the surveys even if you don't think you'll qualify. Sometimes they'll use you anyway!
Fifth tip - some market researchers do things called 'online communities', though still good money, they often understate how long the tasks they ask you to do will take.
Another way we're making extra money is sign up / referrals. Hellofresh, and everyplate often give out free boxes or heavy discounts. Don't pay full price for these if you don't have to.
