Review of Intex Fitrist Cardio – New Kid on the Block
Intex has recently launched their new fitness band in India. As most of you know that Intex is an Indian company that started a business as IT accessories manufacturer and then later introduced various products in the smartphones, speakers, and fitness bands category.
The company appointed Madhuri Dixit as a brand ambassador for their brand last year as per Economic Times.
This Indian company is now competing with the likes of World Class brands like Fitbit, Garmin, GOQii and Xiaomi MI in the smart band category. This is the third product that Intex has introduced after they launched Intex Fitrist and Intex Pulzz in the market. At this price range, the band competes very closely in the category of fitness bands below INR 2000.
The overall design and look overall is nice and it gives you a great look but not the feel of wearing a premium brand. At this price point, we cannot expect much for a fitness band below 2000 INR.
The band is water resistant and splash proof but not waterproof. What this means is that you cannot wear this band while swimming but if you get a few drops of water or sweat on your band then it is fine.
Features & Specifications
As far as the design of Intex Fitrist Cardio goes, it has most of the features that are usually found in other bands as well however when it comes to accuracy of the data it provides it lacks in that area.
The Intex Fitrist Cardio band has basic features which are listed below
- Step Count
- Compatible with Android and iOS
- WhatsApp/SMS/FB/Call Notifications on Smart Phone
- Calories burnt
- Sleep Tracking
- Heart Rate Monitor
- Music Control
- Remote Shutter – Allows you to take pictures from your smartphone by accessing it thru the Intex Fitrest Cardio.
- Alarm Clock
- Anti-Lost Feature
The Intex FitRist Cardio fitness band has a 2.18cm OLED display with a 96×32 pixels resolution, and it weighs approximately 26 gm.
Also if you are using the Intex Fitrist Cardio band the data will only be stored in the App for 3 days which means if you want to access one week’s old data then it is not possible with this band.
Some users also complain that the band does not sync every time with their smartphones. This seems to be a major issue with this band and the company needs to do something if they want to survive in the market and compete with stronger players like Fitbit, Garmin, and GOQii.
Performance and Accuracy
It is disappointing to say that the band has Major drawbacks with the accuracy of Step Count as well. The band counts the steps even if you just move your hand/travel in bike/cars. Therefore the data provided is inaccurate and of no use for someone who wants to monitor their daily walking/running distance.
The Intex FitRist Cardio also has an ‘anti-lost’ feature that will help locate the fitness band if the band is lost but within a distance of 10 meters.
What can you do with Intex Fitrist Cardio band?
If you are a starter and you are looking for a basic fitness band that can send notifications from your smartphone to your fitness band then you should look at Intex Fitrist Cardio band. However, if you are looking for a full-fledged fitness band that can give you accurate data about your step count, calories burnt and heart rate etc. you should look at other fitness bands available in India.
In my personal opinion, the band is a major letdown in terms of the accuracy of data it provides to the individual. Although at a price of approximately 1500 INR the band justifies its cost by providing basic features such as sending notifications to your smartphone and tracking your sleep patterns but I recommend better fitness bands in the same price levels – below 2000 INR.
